While my specialties are trauma, depression , and anxiety, I have broad-based experience.
Getting help can be one of the hardest steps to take. Shame, guilt, feeling trapped in life; it can be so overwhelming. Not to mention the anxiety of meeting a therapist for the first time. I am here to listen, to serve as a guide, and to help if you want me to help. The cliché is the axiom, “You’re stronger than you think;” the truth is you absolutely are, and you matter. I am here to help you along the way.

Marriage therapy; Parenting concerns; Counseling for pastors; Fertility and adoption issues; Spiritual concerns, doubts and questions; Men's issues around communication, emotional health/intelligence, pornography and other addictive or problematic sexual issues; Grief and loss; anxiety; depression ; addiction issues.
It's hard for most people to ask for help. I get that. But I am of the belief that there are two categories of people: those who could be helped by therapy and those who actually go out and try it. So, if you are stepping out, asking for help, and giving therapy a try - good for you for taking a risk. My goal right off the bat is to build trust with my clients. Regardless of the issue at hand, I believe the most important and powerful tool is to have a trusted relationship in your corner.

I have experience helping people address complex trauma, post traumatic stress, relationship concerns, identity exploration, suicidality, self-harm, grief and loss, anxiety, depression , and OCD.
I believe that many of our patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving make sense given our context and experiences. I encourage clients to explore both their past and present in order to better understand which patterns work for them and which they’d like to adjust. By collaborating with clients, I help them to identify their strengths and build new skills and insights for managing life’s stressors. I also incorporate mindfulness and movement practices based on client need and interest.

I have experience working with people who have histories of trauma, depression , anxiety, sexual issues, LGBTQ+ and those who are working through transitional periods.
I provide a comfortable, safe space where you can explore and improve not only your daily functioning, but your overall sense of well-being, and fulfillment. I believe that “you are the one you’ve been waiting for” (Richard Schwartz), and you have the power within you to gain self-awareness to understand why you feel like you do, and to use that knowledge to create positive change in your life. My perception of the role of a counselor is to guide clients as they navigate their personal journey of healing and to facilitate meaningful communication in their lives.

My clients are often teens, young women and couples who are navigating depression , anxiety, OCD, disordered eating, or self-destructive cycles of behavior.
You’ve been trying to do this alone, and you’re tired of trying. These days, your emotions feel like a minefield – where harsh words, unexpected obstacles or even "good" days can detonate uncontrollable feelings, urges, and actions. When the dust settles, you’re left in a haze of regret and shame. You’ve tried everything to numb out the thoughts and feelings entirely, and over time, other people have been pushed out, too. Alone and confused, you wonder: why does life seem easier for everyone else? Am I unfixable? Does anyone understand what I go through each day?

In addition, I work with a wonderful team of professionals that offer medication management, Spravato esketamine treatment to patients suffering from treatment-resistant  depression , and TMS for those struggling with depression , OCD, and more.
You’re the one people go to for support because you seem like you have it all together. Underneath, however, is a different story. You’re barely hanging on. Everyday stressors are overwhelming you. Feeling depressed , hopeless, and anxious are your new norms. You may feel uncomfortable in your own skin and use substances or restrictions as a way to cope. You may feel fearful and stuck because of a traumatic experience. Humans are naturally resilient, but in an attempt to adapt we can fall into unhealthy cycles that keep us from realizing our potential.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
