Having extensive experience and clinical supervision with adolescent and adults in various health settings, I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of each person and the journey they are on to wellness. I am non-judgemental and don't feel it is necessary to shame or parent those I work with. In addition to being a psychologist, I am also a college professor, working with students pursuing master and doctorate degrees and a clinical supervisor . These unique perspective allows me to stay on the cutting edge of research and therapeutic approaches to a variety of issues.

I’m a therapist, coach, consultant, and supervisor who focuses on helping clients understand their emotions in order to decrease ineffective behaviors, habits, and beliefs. I believe in creating a partnership with each client to learn how emotional dysregulation can impact relationships, goals and self perception.

I provide individual and group counseling to adults or adolescents who have a willingness to address a Substance Use Disorder (SUD)/ Addiction and / or are working on their recovery journey. I provide counseling for anxiety, depression, relational problems, and adolescent adjustment difficulties. I also provide services to professionals who are facing challenges with their career journey (e.g., vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, professional transitions, etc.)

I see clients as the experts of themselves, and I am the expert of theory and application; together we can make a positive change and develop new ways of experiencing life.

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), females 12yrs-Adult are my focus. I use a strengths-based approach, compassionate acceptance and change strategies, and DBT Skills Training to help people with emotions. My style is warm and engaging. I am DBT-Trained through The Marsha Linehan Institute which provides the highest caliber of DBT training available. I have been in clinical practice for 22 years. I have advanced training to treat depression, anxiety, OCD and trauma-based disorders. Therapy goals usually incl: to reduce self-destructive cycles, improve mood, relationships & chose life.

Therapy is a space to develop strengths and resources, as well as examining problems and pain. Clients work on both their strengths and struggles in my practice. I enjoy working in a creative and collaborative way with people to support insight and foster positive change. I see my job as applying psychotherapy skills to help increase your sense of well-being, set and achieve personal goals, all while remaining the expert of your life.

I have extensive experience with all types of mood disorders, substance abuse, life transitions and trauma and use a variety of approaches tailored to my clients needs and current abilities. One important part of my approach is having a goal of treating the actual underlying problem that has been causing distress, not just treating symptoms.
