Trained as an art therapist, professional counselor, and brainspotting therapist, I specialize in using an integrated approach to support individuals facing: difficult transitions, difficulty expressing feelings, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, creative blocks, perfectionism, grief, women's issues, chronic pain, and high sensitivity (HSP's).
Do you feel overwhelmed by the weight of the world or stuck in a pattern that is not serving you? Have you ever been told that you are too sensitive? If you are hoping to find more meaning in your life and create more of a balance I would love to help you walk through this process. Focusing on strengths, encouraging creativity, and emphasizing the brain/body connection are important factors in finding an authentic balance. "Creativity is straddling the tension, leaning into the discomfort, and finding your way through the dark." - Brene Brown

I provide a brain based approach to healing trauma called Brainspotting .
I support individuals to attain post traumatic growth, relief from overwhelming emotions, and create affirming meanings around their life experiences. My clients explore long held patterns, and improve self awareness and self esteem through their process. I see clients who feel out of control of their emotions, stuck in a cycle, conflicted in their needs and desires, and who have survived traumatic experiences. I work with depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, interpersonal conflict, grief and loss, and more.

Brainspotting for issues such as Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Stress, OCD and more.
My therapeutic philosophy is that it's not what is wrong with you but what happened to you. I believe that symptoms like anxiety and depression are not signs of weakness but messages to our mind and body telling us that something is not right and needs to be addressed. Maladaptive ways of coping may have once served us by dulling stress or pain but are not working any more, and so we have to learn new, healthier, more adaptive coping skills. I believe both the body and mind work together and are ultimately designed to survive, heal and thrive. Sometimes we just need understanding, validation and support to navigate the process.

I typically use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brainspotting , Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based therapies, and Somatic approaches in a way that addresses the entire being—mind, body, and spirit.
I am passionate about helping people reach their full potential. I strongly believe in the human ability to heal, grow, and thrive, especially when provided with the right opportunities and resources. Clients typically come to me when they are feeling stuck, out of balance, and/or disconnected from their authentic self. Together, I work with clients to identify underlying sources of suffering, uncover hidden strengths, enhance internal resources, and release emotional burdens that have been impacting quality of life and preventing personal growth.

I offer both traditional talk-therapy, creative therapies, and/or brain based treatment modalities (I am an EMDR and Brainspotting trained clinician) to help you make the changes in your life that are meaningful to you!.
We all seek a life that is fulfilling and meaningful, but sometimes during our life's journey, we can come to feel disconnected from that source of meaning. Perhaps the stress and responsibilities of life become overwhelming, and what is meaningful gets lost in the busyness. Maybe a life event occurs (trauma/illness/death/divorce/etc.) that causes us to reevaluate everything we thought to be true. Maybe our relationships or our roles in life begin to shift making us question "What now?" My honor as a therapist is to walk with you as you rekindle that connection and create a life that intentionally honors what matters most to you.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
