I work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and elevated stress and disconnection in their relationships.
Life has gotten so hard, and you are at a loss for what to do. Trying to fall asleep at night has become a battle. Wandering through your days, both exhausted and restless, you spend most of your time worrying. Sadness, emptiness, and overwhelm creates that never-ending sense of hopelessness. You don’t want to do anything or be anywhere. Lately, you’ve become so irritable and don’t really know why. As you suffer, so do your closest relationships. You catch occasional glimpses of feeling better, but you can’t hold on to that feeling very long. The pieces of your life just don’t seem to fit together no matter how hard you try.

To the outside world, you're seen as a pretty together person who's hard-working, accomplished and self-sufficient. When life get's tough, you buck up, soldier on, & "never let 'em see you bleed." You bottle up your pain and keep a tight lid on it. But, behind this exterior, you're actually hanging on by your fingertips. The stress on your shoulders is unbearably heavy & you're overwhelmed, stressed-out, and you feel like you're drowning under the pressure of it all. You're pain is silent, but your suffering is real and it's taking a toll on your health, productivity and your relationships with others.

My style is quietly observant and non-intrusive, providing a steady container for those who wish to do the deep, long-term work of integration.

Many of the individuals & couples I work with struggle to break free of self-defeating patterns - they feel stuck. I have specific expertise in working with people who have been impacted by distressing or traumatic life experiences. Trauma can contribute to a sense of disconnection from ourselves, others, and the world. This is an adaptive reaction to abnormal events. In time, you may realize that living life in ‘survival’ mode is no longer serving you. You may feel numb or empty, or feel ‘too emotional' or reactionary. Connecting with others may feel overwhelming. You are deserving of growth, connection, and healing.

Reaching out for support can be overwhelming, especially if you are not entirely sure that “therapy” is what you are needing or looking for. Many of the clients I work with are functioning well overall, managing careers, school, relationships, parenting, or daily responsibilities, but still feel like something is missing. They are not in crisis—they simply want more. More clarity, connection, confidence, balance, and purpose. They want to move from surviving to thriving. With over 15 years of clinical experience, I specialize in helping people navigating life transitions, identity shifts, and periods of personal growth.

Life is full of possibility, but mental health challenges and self defeating survival patterns can make it difficult to experience it fully. I believe many symptoms stem from a dysregulated nervous system and the adaptive ways we learned to cope. I help teens and adults reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and create more authentic, meaningful lives. My goal is to provide an accepting, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to let your guard down, feel genuinely seen, cultivate self-compassion, and restore a sense of safety within your mind and body.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
