While focusing on relationship-building as a primary theraputic tool, I have an eclectic approach with a high emphasis on Reality and Choice Therapy. I have experience treating a variety of client populations. My personal style is suited to treating clients who may have difficulty trusting others in that I'm told I'm very genuine and approachable. When necessary I take a firm but gentle approach to motivating people to change.

Since I began practicing 21 years ago, I've gathered extensive experience working with adults and adolescents (14-19 yrs) using a strengths-based approach in addition to assessing and increasing communication skills for all areas of life to ensure you get the most out of every session. Always first and foremost, my goal as a therapist is to be genuine, approachable, and nonjudgmental as I help guide you through the therapeutic process to become your own best resource.

I have been working as a clinical therapist for 10 years, and previously worked in community social services with individuals experiencing homelessness and severe persistent mental illness. 15 years of work in the mental health field has taught me that a successful therapeutic relationship relies on building trust while seeking to understand my patients' points of view. In my previous therapy and social work roles, this belief has remained at the center of my work. As a therapist, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting concerns.

I was in the military from 2002-2014. While serving, I discovered one of my passions, listening and helping others. My hope is to help individuals find value in their lives that will comfort their struggles and learn coping mechanisms to aid with this. I also feel it is important to say that family relationships are important to me. I have a strong belief that life can be messy, things can be overwhelming at times, but life can be wonderful!
