I currently have the capacity to serve older teens and adults via telehealth using a wide range of evidenced-based techniques and approaches. Hello! I'm Jen, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing mental health counseling at Counseling and Consulting Professionals (CCP Clinic) through Telehealth only. I work with children ages 13 through 18 as well as with adults. I desire to build strong therapeutic relationships with each of my clients using a person-centered approach.

My ideal client would be someone looking for help to tap into their personal inner strengths, and by maximizing those strengths, will discover peace, balance and self acceptance, in their everyday life. My ideal client would live a life free from fear, worry, and insecurity.

I enjoy helping people identify what they desire from their life and relationships. It can be difficult to understand what we actually want which often leads to stress and other anxious/ depressive symptoms. When stress goes on too long, it's easy to lose motivation and fall into unhelpful thinking/lifestyle habits and patterns that don't match your deeper values. Through talking together, I feel confident we will come to better understand and manage the stress and challenges you're experiencing, as well as identify what might be preventing you from moving closer toward what you hope for.

I have been doing individual, family and couples therapy for 38 years. I am an associate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor. My graduate degree is in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin with undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. My approach is eclectic focusing on cognitive behavioral, existential and problem solving therapy. I has been trained in transactional analysis and enjoy working with the Christian and spiritual perspective. I have a Lay Ministry certificate in Lutheran studies. I have studied eastern religion, philosophy, Yoga, Judeo-Christian ministry, and the paranormal.

Therapy can open the door to discovering a sense of purpose, cultivating resiliency, finding courage, and creating a richer and more pleasant experience of day to day life. My strengths are helping people to navigate grief, sadness, confusion, fear, uncertainty, addiction, a sense of being stuck, other unpleasant thoughts and emotions, creating healthy relationships, impulse control, and making important life decisions.

I earned my Master’s in Community Counseling in 2003, am a fellow of the Harris Institute of Infant Mental Health (IMH), a nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist, and hold a WI-AIMH Endorsement (Mentor Level) for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Promoting IMH. I also work with elementary and middle school age children struggling with anxiety, depression, selective mutism, ADHD, anger and emotional reactivity, adjustment issues (i.e. divorce, moves, blended families), issues specific to gifted and talented children, sensory integration disorders, adoption, & attachment.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and young adults to support healthy growth and development. I also believe that parent involvement is an important part of helping children and families reach their goals. I utilize evidenced-based interventions and creative approaches that honor a patient’s unique interests and strengths.
