Whitney’s focus is children and adolescents- ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, at-risk youth, sexual assault, trauma, neurodivergent, and adjustment disorders with an emphasis in play-therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques. Whitney also focuses on substance use disorders utilizing CBT, DBT, self-help groups, and psychoanalytic methods in order to provide clients the skills needed to maintain sobriety. Whitney is under the supervision of Dr. Kristy Donaldson, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S,
CHST pursuing her credentials as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
Whitney has 12-years' experience with children and teenagers due to her early experience working with underserved populations and her desire to fill in the missing link before children and teenagers get into the system. She believes meeting the client where they are is very important in creating a thriving therapeutic alliance.
Whitney offers a nonjudgmental, unbiased, and safe environment. Mental health and therapy are still stigmatized due to the possibility of being labeled "crazy" or "unstable", but more so- a place and time to feel vulnerable, but safe.
