About
Life often can feel like you are on this long, dark and lonely path. At times it can get overwhelming. I envision that a therapist can be a lantern bearer. As you walk along this path, the therapist can help illuminate what is in front of you. They can help you to look at the different paths you can take. They can not make the choice of what path to take, but they can accompany you along your journey. Be a witness.
I have worked 20+ years in a DMH contracted intensive day treatment program serving severely emotionally disturbed children and their families. I use creative interventions, ie. helping a teen learn about boundaries with a hula hoop or breaking a client out of a repetitive loop by singing the answer. I also mentor and guide the next generation of therapists.
