The way I see it, the goal of therapy is to bolster you so that you can maneuver whatever life brings your way. Depression, anxiety, and trauma all block our capacity to experience the wide range of emotions that give life it's vitality. As your therapist, I will be a secure and safe support as we explore patterns in your emotions and relationships, I will encourage you to experience life in a present-focused and embodied manner, and I will help to foster the growth of your natural strengths and resiliencies. Ultimately, I want to help my clients to reclaim their unique identity and to become better friends to themselves.
I use experiential, relational, attachment-focused, neuroscience-supported, and trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR and AEDP. Whether you are dealing with a history of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship/family problems, identity issues, or struggling to find a sense of purpose, I would love to help you find clarity and a direction forward.
The most fundamental aspect of good therapy is that you feel safe with your therapist. Inclusivity, antiracism, and LGBTQ+ competency are fundamental to the way I work. Gay Men's Therapy Group
As gay men, we can face unique challenges when it comes to intimacy, sex, emotional connection, friendships, community, and family. These challenges can lead to a variety of ongoing struggles: lacking confidence, feeling lonely and isolated, seeking validation through sex or status, and more. This Gay Men's Therapy Group provides the opportunity to connect with other gay men, to share your personal struggles, and to practice building emotional intimacy and connection in a safe environment.
