I am a psychotherapist with 35 years experience in providing individual/family therapy to adults and adolescents. I value working with a diversity of people and in my work I utilize various treatment modalities tailored to meet each individual's unique needs. I believe therapy should be interactive, collaborative and goal oriented. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety/stress, sexual abuse, domestic violence, grief/loss and relationship concerns.
The name of my private practice, Empower Counseling Service ( established with my colleague Rosemary Collins in 1996) was chosen because of our strong belief in the process of helping clients strengthen themselves by gaining new insights into emotional connections to behavior, building resiliency and finding solutions to a wide range of life challenges and issues.
