The basis of my counseling style is my belief that people are inherently good, and that with support, most people are capable of great change and personal growth. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and client is one of the most important parts of therapy, and I want to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support as my clients navigate the personal challenges they are experiencing. I believe that people usually seek counseling because something is causing them emotional or psychological discomfort or pain, and that counseling can often help determine the cause of that pain and hopefully alleviate it.
I use a range of techniques that I believe are most suitable for each person's needs, but I generally attempt to assist my clients with perspective and coping skills which will benefit them no matter what their life circumstances are at any given time.
I enjoy working with clients who are self-reflective and interested in understanding themselves more deeply. I also have a special interest in working with men, especially those who are interested in working on their relationships and communication.
