I consider my therapeutic approach eclectic, incorporating many empirically supported schools of thought into my therapeutic relationships. I believe in offering flexibility and balance to an individual’s needs and allow my clients to guide my intuition in how to best support their personal healing journey. I offer include individual therapy for adolescents and adults, marriage/couple’s therapy, family therapy, parent coaching and advocacy support, educational in-service hours (CPEs), and other public speaking engagements.

When you come into my office I emphasize the importance that my room is your safe place. I do not want to add to your pain. Let's define your meaning of safety, and how to implement it in your daily life. I want our relationship to model what you aspire your other relationships to look like; setting boundaries, expressing your emotions, and validation of your feelings. I have deliberately seeked a variety of opportunities to shape and hone my abilities to become a licensed counselor.

I am an LPC with over 8 years of clinical experience who has worked with a multitude of clients ranging in age, generations, and experience within many diverse settings, fostering a well-rounded, practical, and comprehensive approach when it comes to working with clients. I'll meet you right where you are on your journey, provide therapeutic support, and find solutions that enable you to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Collaboratively, we will work to cultivate new coping skills, identify personal strengths, reshape relationships, and overcome ineffective behavioral patterns in an effort to achieve your personal goals.

Our human experience is to face ease and hardship throughout our lives, with the ebb and flow of anxiety and calm, depression and joy, grief and comfort. Sometimes we can feel stuck, in ourselves and in our relationships. It is through compassionate yet oftentimes difficult introspection that we better understand the essence of who we are. It is from this place of self-awareness that we are able to learn, grow, and practice intentional, purposeful, mindful ways of being with ourselves and with others.

Dr. David Pulley "Dr. Dave" earned his bachelor's in psychology from Howard University in DC and obtained both his Master's and Doctorate from Chestnut Hill College in PA. His Doctorate degree is in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in the subject of Soul Mates. As a result, he is known as an expert on soul mates and a pioneer of some of the clinically based models and theories on the subject. Dr. Pulley has created a team of clinical consultants (Tender Loving Care Clinical Consultations) who provide psychologically based consultative support for their client base.

My specializations include couples and marital counseling, individual therapy, behavioral health (i.e., the mind-body connection), mindfulness training, stress management, values/goals clarification, LGBT issues, and hypnosis. Understandably, clients want results that are both fast and lasting, so I tend to use some type of brief, solution-focused model in my work. I also have considerable experience utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a method that is both quick and effective for relationship/family/parenting problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, chronic pain, guilt, insomnia, medical impairments, work stress, anger/resentment, smoking addiction, and many other difficult issues.
