Welcome! As a therapist, I enjoy working with people who are looking to improve their overall wellness. I work with individuals/couples/families who are looking to heal and live a life they are proud of. I believe in a comprehensive approach to mental health, wellness, and healing. My goal is to help you through this journey of life with all that comes with it and offer a space to come and process your thoughts, feel centered in your day-to-day life, and improve your mindset. I hope to help my clients develop a sense of resilience, mindfulness; aid in the understanding of themselves, and provide a safe place to heal and grow.

I work with people from diverse backgrounds: couples, families, individuals and groups -either, in English or Spanish. Issues explored: relations, career, personal challenges, trauma and family dynamics; also, gender roles, power and control issues, inequality, intimacy, sexuality, conflict and self-awareness. I provide my clients with a friendly environment that facilitates exploration, and the possibility of seeing old patterns from a different angle; with deep respect, an interested presence, and a curious attitude about my client's point of view. I believe in the power of healthy relationships. Relationships can be transformed if we are ready to re-invent ourselves.

We serve adults and children who are in need of psychiatric intervention, medication management, daily skills training and psychotherapy.

Discouragement comes in many forms. My goal is to provide a compassionate environment addressing the discouragement of anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, low self-esteem issues, and other situational stressors. In therapy we collaborate to explore life problems and implement change. With children, my goal is to develop a safe and secure child-centered relationship emphasizing acceptance and empathy. The parent-child relationship is the most important factor for a child’s well-being, so I enjoy helping parents learn to use child-centered techniques to effectively respond to their children’s emotional and behavioral needs.

Our belief is to establish a therapeutic relationship for each client to feel comfortable & heard, in a caring & judgment-free manner. We are a boutique counseling practice located in the Houston Heights. We understand the importance of being able to treat the entire family. Whether it is giving support and guidance for a parent, teen counseling for a struggling adolescent, or play therapy, we believe in a systems approach to unify the family, build communication, & provide peace and harmony in the home.

It is why I have dedicated years of my life studying the best ways to help people through trauma. It’s why over a decade ago, I began working as a therapist. There is a path to healing, and I’ve had the privilege of walking with hundreds of people on their path to finding joy.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I provide supportive clinical treatment to individuals, couples, children and families. I believe in promoting healing and healthy mind through effective psychotherapy. Life as magnificent as it is, comes with challenges that can overwhelm an individual to the point where his/her daily functioning is significantly impaired. Psychotherapy provides a means for managing and coping with issues that at some time or another interfere with daily functioning. My goal is to assist individuals with learning how to manage/cope with the challenges presented by life.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my practice. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience. I have worked in a variety of settings including foster care, community mental health, schools, and 5 years of work internationally in a multicultural setting. I specialize in working with children, teens and adults to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, foster care, adoption, grief, ADHD/inattention, learning differences, social skills, attachment difficulties, relational problems, and trauma.

Therapy is often times a difficult and personal journey that one enters for a variety of reasons. It provides a safe place for people to process and work through circumstances while also offering valuable insight and perspective into whatever journey they may find themselves on. I feel humbled and a sense of gratitude that you would allow me to be a part of this very personal journey that you have chosen to go on. My career journey began as an educator, then school counselor intern, and transitioned to licensed associate therapist. I understand life brings challenges, transitions, and unexpected events. I believe each client is the expert in their own unique life. My goal is to empower clients to make positive life changes while helping develop confidence in their ability to achieve a healthy balance in all aspects of their life.
