All of us have experienced life's difficulties. Finding a way to work through these problems and begin to understand ourselves, and grow in the process, is what counseling is about. I provide a nuturing, safe, confidential environment where you can discover yourself, and learn healthy coping strategies . I work with adults, adolescents and children who suffer from depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and other mental health diagnoses. I also work with couples, families and provide group counseling.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and their families who are dealing with a variety of behavioral health, alcohol and drug abuse issues. My experience has shown me that by changing unhealthy patterns, expressing fears and concerns and taking gentle risks, it is possible to live a satisfying life regardless of what or how long your struggle. I use a combination of techniques depending on issues presented and we will work together on both short and long term goals.

Life can be challenging and sometimes we are told to be strong despite these hard times. Some are taught a definition of being strong is to act like you’re okay, even when you really want to go hide. Or some are taught to pretend you have it all in order, although you really feel lost, stuck, or confused on what is your next step. Many are taught to keep pushing and move past things, not knowing moving past leads to suppression that will surface later on in life rather we want it to or not. I am passionate about helping others through such difficult times and encourage them to process the past while also working on the present.

I have experience working with a wide variety of life problems and mental health disorders, but my primary interests include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), academic issues, panic/phobias, anger management, addiction, couples, marriage, and family relationship issues.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Georgia. If you are looking for help to find your path to peaceful living, allow me to help you find that path. I treat persons with poor self-esteem, grief, depression, and anxiety issues. I provide premarital counseling and immigration evaluations (extreme hardship, VAWA, asylum). I also provide LPC supervision to LPC Associates (Texas only) seeking hours for full licensure. Other services are editing and proofreading papers, theses, and dissertations, and availability for speaking engagements.

Using sound innovative psychotherapeutic techniques I work with my clients towards their goals. I have deliberately seeked a variety of opportunities to shape and hone my abilities to become a licensed counselor.
