I offer couples counseling and individual psychotherapy, and use a great deal of humor and compassion in my work. I work psychoanalytically (seeking unconscious motivations) and cognitively, looking at present issues and challenges. This means that I utilize both short-term AND long-term therapeutic methodologies. I specialize in working with people who are depressed, anxious, suffering from sexual or relationship issues, daunted by the problems they face, or who find themselves creatively blocked, or not living up to their potential in their vocation, or who wish to guide their careers to new heights and new directions.
I'm a licensed psychoanalyst, but not locked into any particular approach. I utilize a combination of techniques/strategies that work best for each patient. Common to all my work is a combination of humor and empathy, to work on building greater self-understanding/self-acceptance in order to take control of her/his life.
I specialize in individual therapy and couples/marriage/partner counseling, as well as divorce/separation mediation. I offer psychoanalysis, and more short-term psychotherapy. I see patients in two locations, East Hampton & NYC. Fees are on a sliding scale. I accept any insurance IF they pay out-of-network providers.
