My background in the creative arts and mindfulness, and in body-centered, relational , developmental and psychodynamic psychology allows me to draw from an eclectic array of tools to help in your healing.
Are you creative? In transition? Depressed? Different? Parenting? Re-discovering YOU? Are you wanting to make changes in your life or to heal from old wounds? Do you want to develop self-compassion? Do you want to learn how to be present for your life, to learn mindfulness to help you through the tough times? If so, let’s see if we can create a compassionate, interactive and authentic therapeutic relationship to work collaboratively towards healing. In therapy, I can help you identify your goals, look at what is and isn't working for you, explore your stories, emotions, and experiences (past and present), develop new skills, and embrace your learning styles and talents. I also provide consultation and supervision to therapists.

I wholeheartedly believe that within everyone lies the capacity to heal, to regenerate and to create the most fulfilling life for ourselves. We all have our own unique blueprints for what it means to thrive, and to live a life of authenticity, alignment and equilibrium. With that acknowledgement in mind, we all also carry forth intergenerational, cultural and relational wounds that are just as unique and important to be unpacked and understood. For several years I have been working in community mental health, crisis outreach and therapeutic services in order to understand what it takes to dissolve suffering and activate compassion.

I use an integrative relational style incorporating psychodynamic and Eastern psychological perspectives in honoring a client's experience and recognizing their strengths as well as their potential for growth.
During our lives, we encounter experiences that can move us away from a direct connection to ourselves. Influences from family, friends, peers, jobs, and the greater culture can affect how we view and express ourselves. We can become conditioned to thinking, feeling and behaving in a way that is incompatible with who we really are and what we want in our lives. This compromises our ability to value our unique identity and to express and apply ourselves, and our strengths. I will help you to identify, understand and remove barriers that are keeping you from realizing your fullest potential.

I practice psychodynamic mind-body psychotherapy, incorporating Relational Psychoanalytic, Experiential Dynamic, Existential-Phenomenlogical, and Buddhist perspectives.
Welcome. Are you looking for more joy and better relationships? My training has taught me to help people examine and describe the life they have, identifying areas in which they are "stuck," and reconnect to the life-goals that motivated them. Sometimes this stuckness has to do with certain feelings, sometimes it is about past traumas, often it shows up as repeating patterns in significant relationships, and sometimes it manifests as a malaise in which a direction in life seems impossible to find.

This approach is fundamentally relational , and even when we explore past memories and future hopes and fears, the focus will always return to how they are taking shape in present moment experience.
My work is ideal for people who have a desire to understand themselves more fully, and who are interested in exploring stuck patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior that cause suffering to themselves and the people in their lives. I work with clients experiencing anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and issues around identity, including sexuality and gender issues. I also work with clients who are grappling with existential issues of meaning and mortality. I focus on the cultivation of awareness and acceptance in the safe environment of a compassionate therapeutic relationship.

Who knew therapy could be fun, easy and not a scary thing at all? If you are looking for something different than what you might often find on Psychology Today, you've landed on the right counselor profile. I help us co-create a welcoming space you can rely on. A professional encounter that doesn't complicate your issues or put you in the position of educating me as a professional. A space that values respect, honest connection and communal support during times of crisis and in everyday, ordinary life, whatever this means for you.

**NEW CLIENTS - Please email/5:15am or waitlist** No one deserves to live in pain. For therapy to work, you need three things: curiosity about yourself and your interactions with others, an authentic connection with your therapist, and concrete, practical tools and skills to promote real and lasting change. My job is to facilitate an understanding of what is causing you pain and getting in your way of creating your best life. As your therapist, I don’t “just listen.” I use an integrative approach, combining several modalities to create the most effective treatment for each client. I practice remote therapy with individual adults.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in Washington, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in Washington listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
