I specialize in working with BIPOC and Latinx clients, transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, folks from queer, bisexual , asexual, lesbian, and gay communities, folks who practice BDSM, non-monogamy/polyamory/relationship anarchy, and activists.
I enjoy working with supervisees as a thought partner, coach, supervisor, and mentor. I believe growth happens when we are rooted in our integrity, engaging curiosity, leaning into discomfort, and embracing humor. I have extensive experience supervising clinical and macro social workers, advocates, counselors and clinicians in community health, non-profit, and private practice settings.

Sexuality and gender are woven into every aspect of our lives. Whether it is going through puberty, questioning gender or sexual orientation, figuring out dating, relating to a partner, exploring desire or alternative relationship models, or adapting to the changes of aging, sex therapy can help people navigate these challenges and build skills for improved health, pleasure, and connection. Sex therapy is very similar to other forms of mental health counseling, often focused on talking through your concerns, thoughts, and emotions. I see individuals, couples, constellations, and family groups.

Hi - I'm Alyxx. My pronouns are they/them. My ideal client is someone living on the fringes, someone who feels like they have never quite fit in with the thin/white/cis/het esthetic that is so predominant in our culture. If you are ready to do the work to change, I'm ready to walk that path with you!

I am currently accepting new telehealth clients across all of Washington. It can be really difficult here and now to live a life that allows you to thrive. I offer support for people struggling -with anxiety, depression, a sense of overwhelm, people who want to feel better. I am a good fit for people who want to shift their relationships with themselves, with loved ones, with standards that don’t fit. I am trans and non-binary, and I have a special place in my practice for LGBTQ+ people of all kinds, especially people on the trans and gender diverse spectrum, and people exploring their relationship to gender.

For queer/trans (QT) folx, finding the person you want to share life with is a BIG deal! Yet, relationships aren't easy. Like most couples, you've been struggling with differences, communication, and unresolved issues. You've been trying to figure it out, but nothing's working and now frustration, negativity, and uncertainty have crept in. I want you to know, you're not alone, and it's not your fault. What we ALL want is a love that feels easy, fulfilling, and joyful-- able to withstand any challenge. And what NONE of us have been taught is exactly how to do that.

I center my work with Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) persons at their intersections, most often LGBTQA+, artists, activists, deep seekers, and other healers. Many have a strong spiritual connection to their current obstacles and are willing to integrate that into their treatment. Presenting concerns range from racial trauma to life transitions, grief to identity. There is an understanding that what is presenting is not a problem, where the goal is creating more space around struggles, creating more options, finding a different perspective, and Being more fully.

So often, the stories we believe about ourselves were given to us by other people. And most of the time, these stories were not actually meant to serve us, but to serve the systems and people around us. From a young age, many of us are conditioned to split off from our own needs for the sake of pleasing others. This split from our truth and our bodies creates symptoms of self-doubt, anxiety, shame, depression, loneliness, body-hate, people pleasing, chronic burnout, and so much more.

The most important stories inside of us always find a way to speak. Sometimes they speak loudly, and sometimes just a whisper; in the thoughts we have, the way we feel, the way our bodies feel. Your anxiety, your memories, your relationship struggles, your deep identity questions. These stories live in our bodies, often uncomfortably or distressingly. In therapy, we can attend to these stories with compassion, and learn to understand how every part of you belongs to your whole self.

I work with clients who desire more satisfying and fulfilling sex lives. Kinky folx, those recovering from sexual trauma and/or relational abuse, those who are exploring their identities, gender and/or sexual orientation, and those who are working to move past shame that has been reinforced by outside sources such as family, religion, or other societal or cultural pressures are welcome. As an Autistic ADHDer myself I am affirming of neurodiversity, and love working with all neurotypes.

I help stressed out over thinkers find healthy self love and balance. Call for a free consult! For over thinkers nervousness runs on autopilot in the background. You don't know what career is right. You put up with being treated in unhealthy ways. The worry about how you are perceived by others is constant. You rehash conversations in your head over and over. You're irritable and insecure, gripped by self doubt. Part of you knows that these negative thoughts are ridiculous but they take over anyway. You just want to wake up calm. To have a healthy relationship. To work a fulfilling career without feeling lost or fearful.

Your exhaustion is real. Despite your self-awareness, growth and accomplishments, your inner critic still makes you second guess, judge and doubt yourself. It’s frustrating to feel stuck despite working so hard. You’re not alone. Many of us struggle to connect our thoughts and emotions to a felt sense in our bodies, especially after experiencing trauma. You may have unconsciously learned to disconnect from your body to avoid feeling the pain and discomfort of traumatic experiences. In the past this was helpful, but more and more this disconnection is feeling like a recipe for self-denial and burnout.

We are products of the stories we carry. They shape who we think we are, who we think we should be, and who we want to become. We are given stories by our families and those who raised us, from our peers and colleagues, from culture and society, and perhaps most important are those we create for ourselves. Some of them are empowering and give us strength to carry on through difficult circumstances. And some of them oppress us, keeping us from living in inner congruence or creating unnecessary conflict in our relationships. Through therapy, it is often helpful to examine these stories to gain understanding and curate them as needed.

I would love to work with you on the things that haunt you and hold you back. Reclamation of personal power will be the basis of our work together. We will explore relational systems such as justice and culture, and the role of the self within these systems. By re-imagining yourself as a cherished and sacred part of the whole, you can identify and heal the wounds that have drained your precious energy and afflicted you with false negative narratives. Together, we will find out what your story truly has to tell us, and rewrite it for your benefit.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in Washington, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in Washington listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
