With couples, I utilize the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (
PACT
).
Being present to ourselves and our lives, right now, is perhaps the most powerful force for change. I am a climate-aware relationship therapist working with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing loss, grief, confusion, and conflict. My work focuses on regenerative relationships between humans and regenerative relationships between humans and the more-than-human world. Increasing our capacity to connect in our relationships dramatically increases our well-being. I can help you grow in your relationship with yourself, your people, and this planet.

I enjoy working with couples using
PACT
(Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) to help couples learn how to regulate and support each other.
I understand you are looking for help and this is the first step to healing your life. I specialize in working with couples, as well as adult individuals struggling with addiction. I see you as a whole person and am mindful of the pain you have experienced and get there are many ways to recovery. In my work with substance abuse I understand the feelings that come along with the burden of addiction. Will I be accepted; am I enough to be loved; do I belong? These are normal questions for most people suffering and questioning addiction. I create safety to help explore these questions.

I am trained in
PACT
(Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) which combines neurobiology, attachment theory, and psychoanalytic thought to provide a hands on treatment designed to get to you out of your rut with your partner.
Are you struggling in your romantic relationship? Does it sometimes feel like you are deeply in love, and other times you can't understand each other at all? Couple therapy can help you learn more about yourself and your partner, and teach you new ways to interact and connect. By exploring the past and the present, couples therapy can uncover old patterns you are unconsciously repeating with your partner, and I can coach you through new behaviors that will strengthen the bond between you.

Accepting New Clients: If you’re tired of recycling the same argument, walking on eggshells with each other, or don’t know how to repair your relationship, I can help you get to the root of your disconnection. You may feel like the relationship you want isn’t possible, or don’t know how to get there. Together, we will identify your entrenched ways of arguing so that both of you can break these patterns by learning how to clearly state how you’re feeling to your partner and in turn, listen deeply. I'll help you pay close attention to each other, so that you both feel a little more held each time we meet.

Let's face it, life can be stressful. That stress can become even more pronounced as you navigate new transitions like becoming an adult, moving to a new city, starting a new job, or leaving a relationship. Often times we have the answer but just need help sorting things out. Sometimes family and friends can be too close to help you identify your challenges. Sometimes THEY are the challenge. Working and trying to manage day-to-day responsibilities is no simple task. This is why I a firm believer in therapy.

Struggling with how to make your relationship and sex satisfying? Our relationships and sex in them can be fulfilling and pleasurable. I see intimacy and sex as layered. I work to enhance strengths, improve communication via attachment work and redefine what works for you/the relationship. Each of us changes in different ways as we grow. With changes in our sexuality, relationship or identity, I also hold space for the grief that we each individually or together experience for what we expected sex would look like or how things used to be. I bring laughter, safety and nonjudgement to each of my clients in our work together.

**NEW CLIENTS - Please email me** No one deserves to live in pain. For therapy to work, you need three things: curiosity about yourself and your interactions with others, an authentic connection with your therapist, and concrete, practical tools and skills to promote real and lasting change. My job is to facilitate an understanding of what is causing you pain and getting in your way of creating your best life. As your therapist, I don’t “just listen.” I use an integrative approach, combining several modalities to create the most effective treatment for each client. I practice remote therapy with individual adults.

Lately, life feels like an endless grind. You have lots of responsibilities and you don't see them going away anytime in the near future. You often feel hopeless about the possibility of change. Sure, you have moments of joy and contentment, but they are few and far between. You would like to stop feeling perpetually overwhelmed. Maybe you identify with labels like anxious and/or depressed. Perhaps, though, these labels don't seem to really capture your struggle and it's hard to find the right words to express how you feel. To make matters worse, you often feel beleaguered and ashamed about feeling so badly.

I'm taking new clients. I see adolescents (11+), adults, couples and families. I have in person appointments Monday, Thursday and Friday. I can also meet on Tuesdays for Telehealth. In our sessions, expect to grow, thrive in relationships and learn to healthily navigate life circumstances. Working together, we’ll discover that our lived experiences have shaped how we think about the world. Using a trauma and attachment focused lens we use those experiences to encourage healing and growth.

I am passionate about helping clients heal and transform through an eco-art therapeutic approach that combines art, nature and play. Working and playing in a natural setting, I offer a variety of mediums to encourage growth, both indoors and out. This allows an emergent and imaginative approach to therapy that adapts to fit the unique needs of each individual, couple, family and group. Moving from sand tray to clay, collage to art journaling, clients can walk outdoors on paths that meander past waterways and through old growth forests. With labyrinths, meditative walks and an enormous sound chamber, I offer many creative outlets.

Life is sometimes complicated and issues can arise that are often times overwhelming. We all are striving to do our best and reaching out for support and help during difficult times is one of the most courageous things we can do...we are not meant to do this alone. Trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues along side the wounds we carry with us keep us from connecting in real authentic and healthy ways with each other and with ourselves. I believe you are the true expert of yourself and together we will walk this journey to healing, self-compassion, and safe connections.

Making the first call is sometimes the hardest part of the therapeutic process. I commend you for your strength and courage in seeking help. One of the most important steps of pursuing counseling is finding a passionate, knowledgeable, and trusting therapist that you feel comfortable with. One that will sit with you through your difficult moments and help you to recognize or remind you of your strength. If a mood disorder is taking control of your life, I can help you to learn how to manage it. If you are experiencing challenges with your significant other(s) I can help you to improve the connection, understanding, and intimacy.

I offer a collaborative, holistic, hands-on approach to therapy. I enjoy working with various relationship constellations and adult individuals. I primarily focus on serving the LGBTQIA2+ community, women, non-binary, and genderfluid folks, those looking for increased connection in their relationships, those who want to explore their sexuality and enrich their sexual selves. I recognize that it takes a lot of courage to start therapy. I aim to provide a space for you to feel genuinely heard, understood, and seen – no matter what you are dealing with.

How can I find a therapist in Washington?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
