I tailor sessions to clients' needs, often using an IFS-informed approach or Brainspotting (like EMDR).
Do you feel overwhelmed by persistent worry, stress, or sadness, or hijacked by past trauma? Are you struggling with shame and low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in painful relationships and life circumstances? I strive to be a safe, empathic and non-judgmental listener, trusted guide, and empowering source of support. I help clients engage in self-exploration, identify their unique patterns and strengths, develop self-compassion and confidence, face their fears, change their reactions, and experience greater freedom and peace. My clients experience healing from trauma, adverse life events, relationship issues and anxiety.

I come from a trauma-informed strengths-based approach to trauma processing with Brainspotting therapy, and "parts" approaches.
Growing up in a dysfunctional family, being in a toxic or abusive relationship, or experiencing the horrors of a traumatic event can set you on a collision course with daily triggers to anger, sadness, overwhelm, panic, or dissociation. Maybe you notice your reactions in your relationships are causing harm, and you regularly experience the dreaded “shame spiral.” You minimize your pain, or others regularly do. If this is you, I’m glad you’re here. Long-term healing is possible. Even if only a small part of you hopes for change, I'm confident it's enough to start the journey toward a peaceful and thriving life.

As a psychotherapist & Brainspotting Consultant rooted in brain-body methods, I work with you to find your starting point.
Weeks, months, or possibly years pass while ignoring a nagging sensation in our minds/bodies. The sensation is communicating to us that something is not right. When we listen, we might notice a few things. In our work, we might feel overwhelmed, dissatisfied, or worthless. In our day-to-day life, we might feel irritated, guilty, or uncertain. Maybe we notice overall feelings of hopelessness, worry, and fatigue. We may have chronic stress, depressive feelings, and anxiety. We want to be free of these feelings and have more meaning in our lives, but we don’t know how to start or what to do next.

You may be noticing that you are struggling with the stress and anxiety that life brings. You also may see changes in your mood, motivation, and self-worth because of it. Naturally, that may spill over into your work, personal relationships, and family relationships. You may also resort to unhealthy behaviors like substances, food, video games, etc. just to feel better, or not feel at all, only for a short while. You are not alone in how you are feeling, and there is also room for you to grow and heal to be your best and healthy self. You deserve better, and I can help you get to a place where you start to give yourself better.

By incorporating neurobiological treatments such as EMDR and Brainspotting , the brain and body are activated to process traumatic experiences, fears and insecurities at an accelerated rate.
When you understand how people become wounded and how this trauma becomes expressed in your life, you will understand why people repeat broken cycles- usually for generations. It does not matter how much you desperately want to experience freedom in your mindsets and emotions, growth can only happen when wounded parts are identified and finally healed. You might wonder why you are not seeing results in your life, even though you wholeheartedly believe in God and his promises. This is because you have doubt, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma triggers, disappointments and other symptoms that need to be finally released and healed.

How can I find a therapist in Washington?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
