Possible openings for individual therapy; call for availability! The Washington University Psychological Service Center (PSC) offers psychotherapy and neuropsychological/cognitive testing. Therapists are trained to treat a variety of concerns including: Anxiety, Panic, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress, Eating Disorders, Relationship problems, Aging-related issues, Grief and loss, Insomnia, and Behavioral health (e.g., pain). Neuropsychological testing can assess concerns like ADHD, learning disability, memory complaints, or cognitive problems after stroke, brain injury, or other condition.
Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation to identify concerns and determine goals for treatment. Therapeutic approaches are eclectic with specific techniques tailored to address the needs of each client. The PSC prides itself in providing treatments grounded in research with demonstrated effectiveness. The PSC also provides neuropsychological assessment.
Therapists are advanced graduate students in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Washington University, which is nationally accredited by the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System. All therapists are supervised by licensed psychologists. Erin Lawton, Ph.D., is the director of the PSC.
