I am the Executive Director and co-founder of the Central Iowa Family Institute. I worked with literally thousands of clients during my career as a licensed marriage and family therapist, educator, and consultant. With 30 years of experience, I've developed an integrated client-focused approach that combines family systems, positive psychology, communications theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. I try to engender trust, hope, openness, warmth, respect, and a sense of humor in my work with clients.
I believe that the relationship between the therapist and the client is paramount for holistic treatment and healing of the body, mind, and spirit, and therefore hopes to inspire clients by empowering, educating, and challenging them to build on their strengths as well as possibilities to move to a place of hope and healing.
