Why is it that the people closest to us are also the ones with whom we have some of our greatest conflicts? Such is the power of relationships. My primary goal as a therapist is to facilitate meaningful communication between couples and families - one that promotes introspection and generates insight into people's relationships. I help my clients tap into dormant or underutilized resources that will help strengthen relationship bonds.
In addition to couples and families, I work with individuals. Individual therapy is focused on addressing clients' personal and professional impasses. In doing so, they find ways to experience greater satisfaction and happiness with themselves and their relationships.
My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and collaborative. Central to it is exploring how we socially locate ourselves, particularly on issues such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, gender identity, and sexual orientation. These discussions often help shed light on the ways we look at the world, ourselves and our relationships.
