Imagine hearing birds chirping during your therapy session. Or feeling the warm sunshine on your skin and fresh air in your lungs. If being in nature sounds more healing and less intimidating than sitting in an office, then walk and talk therapy may be just what you're looking for! Walking helps the brain to release "feel good" chemicals, helping to alleviate depression and anxiety and reduce stress. Walking decreases negative emotions and promotes mental clarity and positive thinking. It can boost self-esteem, increase energy, improve sleep quality, and allow you to reconnect with the natural world.
Walk and talk therapy is especially beneficial for those struggling with ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia, grief and loss, and trauma. It's also quite helpful for those who feel uncomfortable with direct eye contact, and those who would prefer an open space rather than confined to an office.
Walk and talk sessions are held year in the neighborhoods by our office, and are suitable for teens, adults, and couples. Coming soon! We are going to be opening up an indoor walk and talk room, so you can still have your walking sessions on a treadmill during inclement weather!
