Therapists in Yacolt, WA
Specializing in trauma, attachment, anxiety, relationship issues, religious deconstruction, and life transitions, I help clients move beyond survival mode and reconnect with themselves.
Many of the people I work with are high-functioning, creative, and deep feelers who still feel “off,” like something isn’t quite right. This can show up as anxiety, avoidance, or chronic stress in the body. My work is for those ready to go deeper into the subconscious patterns and emotional material driving these cycles, with support to safely work through what’s underneath.

Do you feel like you’re constantly trying to keep up with a world that just doesn’t quite fit you? A lot of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, anxious, or burned out from years of masking or pushing themselves to meet expectations that don’t match how they actually function.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent adults, including autism and ADHD, especially folks who are late-diagnosed or starting to question things for the first time. Many of my clients come in thinking they “just have anxiety,” but we end up uncovering a bigger picture that finally makes things make sense.

Sometimes life feels heavier than it should. Therapy can be a place to pause, sort through what's going on, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, burnout, postpartum challenges, and life transitions. I strive to create a space that feels supportive, collaborative, and authentic so you can show up as you are without fear of judgment.

You probably know what's bothering you. Most people who reach out already do — the anxiety, the version of yourself you keep meaning to get back to, the relationship dynamics you keep noticing but can't change, the grief or anger that doesn't have a clean name yet. You also probably know that talking to someone might help. The hard part isn't figuring that out. The hard part is reaching out — sitting in the discomfort of saying the thing out loud, trusting it might go somewhere good when so much of what you've already tried hasn't.

Life is complicated: Seeking help doesn't have to be. In difficult times, it helps to have the empathic presence and guidance of a counselor to listen, support and move us forward. I see clients who struggle with anxiety, trauma, relational and spiritual/church concerns. I consider each client’s needs and use a combination of attachment, insight-oriented, and cognitive behavioral concepts, in addition to EMDR. My work is with adults (ages 18+) only.
I respond to emails/calls within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

You may feel caught in cycles of stress, worry, or self-criticism. Past experiences might still shape how you see yourself, leaving you disconnected or stuck in old patterns. Deep down, you want more than just getting by. You want to feel grounded, at home in your own story, and aligned with your values. You long for self-acceptance, fulfilling relationships, and the ability to move toward your goals with confidence.

So glad you are here! There's a particular kind of weight that comes from being someone who holds it together for everyone else - and then wondering why you feel so disconnected from your own life. Maybe it's grief, or anxiety, or a relationship that stopped feeling like partnership. Maybe life has shifted in ways you didn't see coming and you're not sure how to find your footing, whatever brought you here, I want you to know: I've been sitting with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives for 35 years. You don't have to explain yourself from the beginning - you can just start from where you are.

My specialty is discerning dynamic patterns in relationships and behaviors. I do past-present-future trajectory forecasting—analyzing where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’re headed. My central questions are: Where is your current path taking you? And what can we do now to calibrate your trajectory so you can hit the mark of your purpose?
Knowledge is valuable, but wisdom is even greater. You can gather materials (knowledge) to build a house, but without the blueprint (wisdom), the pieces won’t fit together. In counseling, I offer more than information alone—I aim to help you connect knowledge with insight.

Your past is invading your present. Your emotions overwhelm you at times. Many of your relationships are unfulfilling - or outright painful. Your self-esteem is low to non-existent, and you often feel you aren’t good enough. Celebrating your successes is hard for you because you feel like you don’t deserve them. Your inner critic is your constant companion. And the worst part is: overcoming these obstacles seems like a huge mountain to climb. You don’t know where or who to go to for help. We all need connection more than ever right now. I’d love to help!

I work with adults and teens 16+ who have spent years doing everything right but still feel stuck in anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or burnout. Many of my clients carry trauma they have never fully addressed, or feel misunderstood because of neurodivergent wiring like ADHD or Autism. I also support parents of autistic children and helping professionals who are running on empty. I help clients move past surviving into a life that feels genuinely peaceful and their own.

As a mental health counselor specializing in women with ADHD, I know that your experience of navigating the world is entirely unique—and often completely exhausting. The standard approaches to ADHD have ignored the specific ways it manifests in females. My practice is dedicated to changing that narrative and providing a space where you feel genuinely seen and understood. In our work together, we will focus on three core pillars tailored to how your brain and body actually function: A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach, Hormonal Awareness and Masking/Imposter Syndrome. Together, we will transform your exhaustion into empowerment.

I strive to cultivate a way of being that might allow for a felt sense of safety and trust to develop between my clients and I. It is not small thing to venture into our internal worlds with one another and an honor I am able to join with the brave clients who invite me. The therapeutic process can take many forms depending on what brings you and what you hope to accomplish together but in general, I come from an approach that centers on the relationship and trust being our foundation and the rest we build from there so to speak.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
