You may be managing anxious tension, overthinking, or a level of fatigue that doesn’t quite make sense given how well things are going.
We focus on shifting patterns at the level where they actually change—not just where they make sense. Together, we slow down, breathe, track what’s happening underneath your reactions, regulate in real time, so you can respond differently when it matters. My approach is warm, direct, and relational, integrating EMDR, IFS, ACT, mindfulness and somatic work.

Hi! How has life been lately? Every person has unique reasons behind wanting to step into therapy. One of my goals is to make the process as simple as possible. I hope to facilitate an environment where each person has the opportunity to know themselves more, and to step more fully into the individual they want to be. I work with humans navigating big life changes, healthcare workers working within pressured job positions, people re-establishing who they are after religious trauma, and individuals asking "how do I regulate my nervous system in this wild world?"

I specialize in helping individuals heal from abuse & trauma, disordered eating, depression, anxiety, and gender dysphoria.
Trauma & abuse can cause us to feel isolated, out-of-control, and lost in our own lives. The resultant suffering & mental illnesses significantly disrupt our relationships, life satisfaction, and sense of self. These painful experiences can cause a disconnect between the four aspects of our being – mind, body, emotion, and spirit. Therapy offers a space in which you can understand this disconnection, re-story your experience, reintegrate these parts of yourself, and heal. In our work together, we will honor your experiences and help you find what you need to live a more authentic, empowered, and enriching life.

Being a human is hard and sometimes we can feel lost, stuck, or alone. We develop ways of existing in the world that allow us to survive, but sometimes these patterns of coping block our ability to connect to ourselves with compassion. Therapy can be a way to identify these unhelpful patterns & reconnect to our wholeness and innate wisdom. My role as a counselor is to walk beside you on this journey, providing a safe space for a gentle and curious exploration of the wounds you have experienced and the ways you have learned to survive.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
