We don’t always have control over the things that happen to us in life, but we do have control over how we choose to respond to them. When we know ourselves, and family patterns, & have the power to own our own history we are better equipped to meet these challenges & establish healthy patterns. I believe in a person-centered, integrative, strengths-based, bio-psychosocial approach. Regardless of your story, it is your own & as such you are the expert. My role is to help assist you along your journey by helping to facilitate a deeper understanding of who you are while reminding you of the importance of self-compassion & self-care.

Life is difficult and navigating your way through the world can be a lonely, painful experience. It leaves scars and memories that can turn the person in the mirror into a complete stranger. Depression, anxiety, pain, confusion and regret seem to keep pulling you down into an endless cycle. Discovering how to face your world, your circumstances, and more importantly, yourself, takes more than just will power. It can't be done alone, but it can be done.

We live in a fast-paced world where it can be challenging to distinguish between circumstances and behaviors, and the emotions they evoke. At times, we may need support in gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves and the ways we engage in our relationships. I have experience with grief/loss, relationship dynamics, anxiety, depression, pre-marital counseling, unhealthy coping behaviors, anxious/avoidant attachment, boundary setting/enforcing, and difficult conversations. If feelings of unrest or confusion have you spinning in circles, counseling can help create a path towards peace.

We all long to be truly seen and understood-yet at the same time we're terrified of what might surface, in ourselves and in others. We doubt our own hearts, second-guess our choices, and carry anxiety, depression, and old wounds. Counseling is the brave, gentle work of examining your life-not with judgement, but with curiosity, compassion, and courage. When you embark on this journey things begin to shift. Clarity emerges. Hope grows roots. Life feels rich and meaningful. Little by little, we begin to trust ourselves again-to believe that the choices we make can truly nurture and bless our lives.

Depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues can really impact our true identity and our ability to act from a place that is authentic to ourselves. I can help you let go of old patterns so that you can freely create the life you want. We do this through recognizing defenses that are no longer working, through paying attention to where negative emotions are stuck in the body, and through creating a relationship with empathy, honesty, and wholeness. With therapy/counseling you can find, return to, and celebrate your true, unadulterated, beautiful self.

Seeking therapy can be a daunting process, while also being one step toward greater wholeness/healing. Relationship is where we are both wounded and healed. I work with individuals seeking relief from distressing symptoms such as; demanding too much of yourself, finding it hard to trust self, trust your own experience, self-soothing through addictive behaviors, pleasing others at your own expense, anxiety, depression, CPTSD. Our patterns of relating develop early within our first attachments, so our journey might include visiting some of those relationships to wonder how they impact you in the here and now.

Most of my clients are women carrying trauma woven into relationship — a partner's betrayal, a narcissistic parent, a mother who couldn't show up.
Therapy Intensives for High Achieving, Reflective Women Ready to Live with True Autonomy. You're an ambitious woman realizing the patterns that got you here can't take you forward. From the outside, things look impressive. From the inside, you're tired in a way that rest doesn't touch. The "not good enough" whisper never quite leaves. Maybe you're navigating betrayal, the erosion of a relationship, or the long shadow of a mother who couldn't show up. You've done a lot of personal work and still feel stuck between what you understand and feel and how you live.

As it turns out, "just don’t stress” isn’t very helpful, and “adulting” includes everything we should have been taught in grade school.
Most people don't seek therapy because life is going exactly as planned. They come because they’re tired of just surviving and are ready to start living again.
Pain has a way of rewriting the stories we tell ourselves. It can quietly change the way we see ourselves, others, and sometimes even God. But healing lets you write the next chapter by uncovering the person you’ve always been beneath survival mode, people pleasing, fear, stress, and self doubt.

As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in the assessment and treatment of personality disorders, including narcissistic, histrionic, borderline, antisocial, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders.
The initial sessions focus on achieving diagnostic clarity. It's essential to carefully distinguish personality disorders from personality issues, just as it is to differentiate between substance abuse and dependence, or between sexual addiction and other sexual concerns. Let's figure out what is going on to get you the treatment you need.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.
How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.
Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.
How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
