I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety or trauma related to relationships, family, diagnosis or grief & loss.
It takes courage to turn inward and begin understanding yourself in a deeper way. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves, often while still appearing “fine” on the outside. They may be carrying chronic stress, unresolved experiences, neurodivergence differences or burnout that is beginning to impact their emotional and physical well-being. I work with individuals from all walks of life, including healthcare professionals and first responders, who are ready for change but unsure where to begin.

Hello! It can be so hard to reach out and get support. I truly believe counseling is more than learning coping skills and really begins with a trusting relationship. I love working with children, teens and adults. I love utilizing play therapy centered approaches as that is the language of children and how they show us their world. I have a passion for working with neurodivergence such as ADHD and Autism. I have a deep passion for helping individuals make sense of their trauma through trauma informed therapies. I incorporate a lot of creativity in sessions for those that would like to use art and sandtray to tell their stories.

Whatever it was that motivated you to seek help, an anxiety attack, that ongoing depression, a relationship issue, or old memories that still sting - you deserve a supportive and safe place to fully explore your experience.
The work of creating the life you want is harder than it seems, and is made even harder by lingering past trauma. Together, we will use tools such as EMDR and parts work to gently process the experiences that are unresolved, to open up the possibility of trying something new. My hope is to give you a safe place to rebuild a loving relationship with yourself.

To the outside world, you have it all together. You’re the person who’s always on top of everything, eyes on the ball, getting things done. But, inside is a different story. People admire your drive, but the truth is you don’t feel like you have any choice but to keep pushing forward. You resent the feeling of being trapped on this path. But you know that if you slow down, even for a moment, you’ll have to deal with the pain you’ve been desperately trying to outrun. Of course, no matter how fast you go, the pain will always be there, ready to overwhelm you the first chance it gets. You don’t know what to do – it feels hopeless.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
