I believe that we all have the power deep inside of us to make the changes that we want in our lives. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of extra support and a different perspective along the way. My counseling approach is one of care, compassion, and empathy. It is important to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my client, one that feels comfortable and free from judgment and shame. Therapy is an opportunity for expression, self-exploration, healing, and learning new skills and strategies to address the issues that are getting in your way. Taking care of your mental health is as important as your physical health.

If you have felt taken advantage of by spiritual leaders, hurt by those who are meant to shepherd, or just turned off by the hypocrisy of the church, we could be a great fit. I work with young adults and grown adults to help you discover a more meaningful way to integrate with your negative spiritual experiences with whatever your remaining faith may look like. Empathy and humor is central to how I interact with clients. If you’re ready to see a change in your life, even if it seems out of reach, please reach out and let me join you on your journey.

Reflecting on my own counseling practice, I have discovered the overwhelming strength and healing power of human connectedness which is an essential cornerstone of my therapeutic counseling relationships. Life is a journey filled with both opportunities and challenges. When daily life and/or life transitions seem too overwhelming, the guidance and support provided from a trusted professional who is empathetic and objective can be informative, empowering, and restorative. I use cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic interventions to help clients discover how conscious and unconscious thoughts impact emotions and behaviors. In addition, I draw from a variety of counseling theories to meet each client's individual needs.

Being human right now is hard. The pressures of daily life, relationships, and expectations can leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself and your direction. You may be carrying grief, anxiety, trauma, or thoughts you’ve been trying to manage on your own. I offer a warm, grounded, and collaborative space where you don’t have to white-knuckle it alone. Together, we’ll slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and work toward greater connection, meaning, and emotional safety.

Imagine facing the world with a sense of confidence and peace instead of fear or shame. Imagine looking at your partner and being filled with feelings of love, gratitude, and excitement. Imagine waking up to feel freed from your past and free to live your future! During periods of struggle, we can feel isolated and directionless in our experience and not where to turn or what to do. As a human, I understand suffering. As a therapist, my intention is to honor every part of your humanness and walk alongside you on the path towards wellness.

I do not believe people are “broken.” Often, what we call symptoms are intelligent adaptations to overwhelming experiences, unmet needs, disconnection, grief, trauma, or living too long disconnected from one’s authentic self. Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about gently uncovering the parts of ourselves that were buried beneath survival. Between the Be-ing and the Becoming. I believe healing exists within this sacred space. It asks us to compassionately honor all parts of ourselves. Once we have we can lean into our edge of growth for our next phase of our personal evolution.

I have a special interest in helping you discover what is truly possible for yourself and your life—often through the power of healing relationships, including the one we build together in therapy. Maybe you’ve found yourself stuck in a cycle you can’t seem to break, feeling disconnected from what makes your life truly vital. I work closely with individuals navigating life transitions, work-related stress, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and I hold a certification in ADHD treatment.

Who you are and what your journey means for you is crucial to how I can help. Historically my clients come from all corners of the sociopolitical spectrum. Ideally, my client's are intent to connect; the therapeutic connection is crucial to aid in processing life circumstances (historical and current) on the intimate level and the very real recognition of the bigger picture of where they are impacted. For this moment in time in history, there is no separation. I'm right with you.

Life can be challenging in many ways...we are often having to pivot due to uncontrollable changes or feeling 'stuck'. All this can lead to insurmountable distress and feeling unmanageable. You can heal, recover, and succeed in positive growth! My experience in counseling is widespread. I've worked in the helping profession over 25 years (minus a few years to stay home and parent). I enjoy being able to help others. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you are curious or have any questions. Often taking the first step can be the biggest obstacle to overcome and be a relief once contact has been made.
