I have lots of training in anxiety, depression , and suicidal thoughts.
Do you have a child who is struggling with not being able to communicate with his/her peers and the adults in their life? Or do you know someone struggling with depression , anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? Are you wanting to find a way to understand where your child is coming from or come back to a healthy sense of wellbeing? I have worked with school aged children, before and after school, on social and emotion issues, along with working through difficult situations they may face or have already faced, and worked with them on how to communicate with peers and adults.

As a therapist I work with adults (18 and up) who have difficulties related to trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, loss, and aging, including anxiety, depression , decreases in life satisfaction, and end of life concerns. I am cognitive-behavioral in my theoretical orientation and pull from a range of evidence-based interventions depending on my clients' needs and preferences. While I treat a range of mental health disorders I specialize in adolescents with depression , anxiety, trauma, behavioral and parenting issues.
As a counselor, my role is to create a safe environment where you can feel secure and supported. My style is respectful, warm and interactive. I value a strong therapeutic alliance as a basis for personal and behavioral change and emotional growth. When working with teens, I find collaborating with caregivers to be most effective in fostering growth and positive change. I also find it essential working with adolescents to build a strong rapport as a foundation to further enhance the therapeutic process.

Depression , anxiety, problem anger, grief, trauma (PTSD), addiction, and marital conflict to name a few.
My approach to therapy is based on making an empathetic connection, promoting awareness and relational growth. I have a holistic perspective, believing we are our own best resource for growth and healing. I am skilled at providing an open and compassionate space in which to connect with what is most important to you. For therapy to be meaningful and therefore useful, I have found techniques less important. Instead, I emphasize skillful use of the therapy relationship to work deeply with a wide range of issues, challenges and presentations - honoring diversity in my work with people, ideas and identities.

Depression , anxiety, compulsive behaviors, and other diagnostic criteria usually accompany stress during troubled times.
When you are looking for a therapist you want someone who will listen, and who will hear your story without passing judgment. Once your story is told you hope your therapist can help you look at your situation from some different perspectives, and help you identify the limiting filters that you may use to view your world, so that you have more choices and possibilities in confronting and moving through tough times.

If you are bothered with anxiety, depression , trauma, life transitions, feeling unworthy, struggling with relationships, or any other challenge in life, let’s talk about it.
My goal is to help make counseling feel comfortable, safe, and at your pace. We will work collaboratively to help you find your strength, feel empowered and confident, and rediscover meaning and purpose in your life. Talking through past or present tough experiences or hurts can be difficult. It’s tempting to try and ignore them or minimize how they are impacting you. Therapy can be a safe space to help you take the time needed to address your feelings in a way that will help you truly heal from the hurt, and discover how to engage with yourself in a healthy way that enables you to move forward.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
