Trauma, anxiety/depression, or grief/loss often produces overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and purposelessness. Our foundation is shaken, the stability of our lives feels fragmented. In these moments we can turn to substances or disrupted behaviors for relief which only adds to our despair. I work primarily with older teens, adults, and couples who come into the counseling relationship suffering from these and a myriad of other concerns. I take a collaborative, person-centered approach to my work with clients to bring healing, clarity, and renewed purpose through developing sustainable solutions.

Trauma is something most people experience in life. However, for some people, these experiences can be soul shattering. Some events can cause us to lose all sense of ourselves as we collapse into fragmented pieces of who we once were and disconnected from who we are meant to be. I believe we all have value and purpose in this life and beyond. By utilizing a combination of talk therapy, EMDR and creative outlets, I will walk beside you as you uncover all the broken bits and pieces to rebuild the beautiful mosaic of your life after trauma

As a solution-focused therapist, my primary goal is to empower individuals whether children, teens, or adults to discover their inner strengths and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe in a collaborative, client-centered approach that emphasizes practical solutions, strengths and resources rather than focusing solely on problems or past experiences. My work is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and transformation. By helping clients identify their goals, explore their resources, and build on their successes, I work alongside them to develop effective strategies for overcoming challenges.

Hello and welcome! My name is Amber, and I work under the business name "Nurturing Hope Counseling". I chose this name for my business because that is what I hope we can build working together in the counseling relationship. Life is stressful and hard at times, if not all the time, so coming together to find ways to grow and strengthen our hope is something that I find key to reaching the goals we create together in counseling. Hope is that "light at the end of the tunnel" we strive for, but sometimes lose sight of in the muck of life. But, fortunately the light penetrates the dark, so together we can foster the flame of hope again.
