I am a psychologist who believes that if something isn't working, try something different! I try to create an atmosphere for growth that is warm, kind and challenging. I do my best to steer clear of "psychobabble" and offer tools for change that are easily understood and practical. Whether the issues are emotional, relational or social, you'll find a safe place to do the necessary work to grow.

People can get stuck in painful emotional states and relationship patterns, for all kinds of reasons. I help people with chronic emotional pain, depression, anxiety, and the aftereffects of trauma and abuse. I focus on helping people work through sources of pain, and build their capacities for a satisfying life. In couples counseling, I help partners hear and understand each other in new ways, and create the space they need to thrive as both individuals and as partners in a relationship.

These experiences fall on the spectrum of what's often called psychosis, and I specialize in working with people navigating them.
My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where your experiences are taken seriously and where we can work toward what matters most to you, whether that's rebuilding relationships, returning to work or school, or simply feeling more like yourself again. Recovery isn't just about managing symptoms. It's about reclaiming your life.

Feeling stressed and overwhelmed lately? Or struggling with depression or anxiety for as long as you can remember? Everyone might be dealing with something different. My job is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for your pain to be seen. I hope you will feel safe to talk about everything in this space. I believe that psychotherapy, at its core, should be a healing relationship. Through this relationship, you can slowly learn to experience your life a little differently.

I have experience working with people experiencing psychosis, bipolar, personality disorders, trauma, attachment issues, and more.
We need help to feel secure in, trust, and make sense of our emotional experiences. When we don’t get the help we need, this often leads to patterns of feeling emotionally dead, chronically overstimulated, or, simply, feeling out of touch with oneself. Therapy is a kind of relationship in which we are able to recover our own sense of self by exploring those emotional experiences, large or small, that for whatever reason come to mind, stay with us, and make us pay attention to them.

I specialize in complex trauma, dissociation, and psychosis, offering a deeply relational and trauma-informed approach rooted in safety and authenticity.
I work best with people who want something real, not perfect. We start by understanding your experience on your terms, then build from there. No scripts, no cookie-cutter interventions. I'm safe, real, imperfect, competent, and not boring. I'd rather do pushups with you than worksheets.

Along with my role as a statewide trainer and consultant with expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) for the University of WA Dept of Psychiatry, I support private clients with a wide range of issues, offer clinical supervision for mental health professionals, & offer consultation & trainings for co-occurring disorders and CBT & CBTp.
Thoughts, feelings and behaviors, which we often aren't even aware of, can keep us cycling in painful patterns of suffering, & may deepen those patterns over time. Through exploring our experience in a safe & compassionate space, we have the opportunity to see more clearly the patterns that aren't supporting our wellness or allowing us to live in line with what's truly valuable to us. We have an opportunity to learn tools that move us toward a more fulfilling existence, regardless of how difficult our life circumstances may feel to us.

You've probably tried to figure it out on your own. You're self-aware, you know your patterns, maybe you've even been in therapy before. And still something feels stuck. Maybe it shows up as anxiety that won't quit, relationships that repeat the same dynamics, or a sense that you're going through the motions but not really feeling like yourself. I work with people who are ready to go beyond just talking about it and actually feel the shift. I meet you where you are, at your own pace, and we go from there.

Psychosis Therapists
What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
