Engaging in counseling can be a scary first step. You may wonder if your symptoms are just in your head and if you really just need to "tough it out". I applaud the courage it takes to look for a counselor and entrust someone with the scariest or most difficult parts of your life. I am honored to be that person for my clients.

Using an emotionally focused, attachment-based approach, I’ll guide you in understanding your emotions and uncovering the root causes of disconnection.
If you’re feeling disconnected—from yourself, your partner, or the world around you—you’re not alone. Whether you're navigating relationship struggles, emotional wounds, or the impact of past experiences, therapy can be a space to slow down and truly explore what’s going on beneath the surface. I work with individuals, couples, and veterans who are ready to dive into this kind of work—not just for short-term relief, but for deeper emotional change. Many of the people I work with want to feel more secure in their relationships, more connected to themselves, and more confident in how they handle life’s challenges.

As an attachment-based, sex-positive, and LGBTQIA+ & Kink/BDSM/Poly affirming therapist, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental therapy space.
Do you feel there are aspects of your sexuality or sexual self that have been unexplored, overlooked or neglected? Perhaps you're grappling with dissatisfaction and frustration in your current relationship? Maybe you're struggling to recover from infidelity or even contemplating divorce? Although we are inundated with cultural messaging about sex and relationships, most of us were not given the tools that allow us to connect to our partners or granted the space or permission to freely explore the depths of our sexual selves. Let's change that. You deserve fulfilling relationships and an authentic intimate life.

Life can be so hard sometimes, right? It can be overwhelming, exhausting, full of anxiety and heartache... If you are in a hard place, I am here to support you. I work with my clients to help them understand the underlying thoughts and beliefs that are contributing to the difficulty of life. I explore the experiences my clients had that are influencing how they see themselves and their world today. Clients can take a new look at these beliefs and thoughts and assess whether they still fit. With couples, I focus on increasing the connection, so each partner feels seen, heard, and secure in the relationship.

I use ACT, somatic and attachment-based therapy, IFS-informed parts work, Polyvagal Theory, SSP, and mindfulness to help clients heal from grief, trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions.
You may be carrying more than most people see—grief that lingers, a chronic illness diagnosis that changed everything, or family relationships that take more than they give. You’re doing your best to hold it all together, but it feels heavy, confusing, and sometimes lonely. I specialize in helping women, caregivers, and adults navigating life transitions, including grief and loss, cancer support, divorce, spiritual trauma, caregiver stress, and emotional overwhelm—offering a safe, compassionate space to pause, process, and rebuild with meaning and clarity.

Trauma leaves its mark – on our hearts, our minds, and our connections. It tells us untruths such as, "I am not good enough" and often shows up as anxiety. But healing is possible. In fact, the mind and body are healing machines. My hope is to empower you to heal the root cause of your compulsive thoughts/behaviors; to gently look beneath the soil, rather than just clip the leaves. To achieve this and other positive outcomes, I tap into my extensive training as a somatic therapist, as well as my own experiences of "doing the work". This may sound daunting – we will go at your pace. It could be the journey of a lifetime!

Life can be exhausting. It can feel overwhelming, confusing, and uncomfortable. This is especially true when trying to figure out how to navigate life events, relationships, barriers, and trauma. We could all use a little support along the way.

Imagine this: you’re navigating a significant life transition—whether you’re preparing for marriage, expecting a baby, facing challenges in building your family or adjusting to a new stage of parenthood. The excitement is real, but so is the uncertainty. Maybe you’re struggling to balance your own needs with those of your family. Perhaps you’re dealing with neurodiversity or postpartum anxiety, depression, or rage. What you really want is to feel grounded and confident in the midst of all these changes. You want to strengthen your foundation as life throws challenges your way, knowing you have the tools and support to handle them.

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
