I help women to be more confident, alive, and fulfilled in their relationships—with people, with their
spirituality
, and most importantly with themselves.
Current openings. Do you feel stuck in your relationships, career, or dysfunctional patterns? This isn't where you thought you'd be at age 25, 30, or 40. The anxiety and constant second-guessing yourself is exhausting. You feel like you are always "the helper" in relationships, but deep down, you feel unseen and resentful that your needs don't feel acknowledged by others. Even your
spirituality
has felt stale lately, leaving you drained. You need help navigating through the anxiety and negativity. Imagine having a deep sense of peace and joy with who you are right now and your process of becoming.

I believe
spirituality
plays a role in the healing process.
I strive to create an environment that encourages growth and healing. Issues such as anxiety, depression, grief/ loss, abuse, trauma, domestic violence, anger, relationship and identity crisis leave one feeling depressed and alone. Working closely with individuals, couples, and families, together we will face life's struggles. My experience as a family therapist has provided me with extensive opportunity to work with families and children in the foster care system, or those families at risk of children being removed from the home. Additionally, working as a mental health professional in hospital emergency rooms has provided hands on crisis intervention with individuals facing extreme emotional situations.

I work best with women / femme adults and teens that have survived abandonment and chaotic upbringings that currently manifest in areas of relationships, addiction &
spirituality
.
Women seeking healthier relationships are my specialty. Even now, if you are deciding to change how you exist in this world you are already in transformation. Transformation comes through making choices that are conscious, consistent & compassionate and through dis-internalizing systems that are set up to repress and minimize your preciousness. The more we do this, the more we can give & receive love, find our fellow travelers (because we aren't meant to do this alone!) and create safe spaces in otherwise stormy places. With hearts open, and wisdom engaged, change becomes beautifully inevitable.

It takes a special kind of courage to ask for help. Whether we have had a hardship sneak up on us, or been wrestling with it for a lifetime, expressing out loud a need for assistance is an act of bravery. I have been working as mental health counselor and psychotherapist since 2014, and in that time I’ve been honored to witness these acts of bravery from adolescents, adults of all ages, and families. I believe that our experiences matter and are worth talking about.

I treat a host of issues including: childhood and adult trauma, depression, anxiety, isolation, relationship challenges,
spirituality
, life transitions, aging, and grief and loss.
My therapeutic philosophy rests on the premise that entering into a therapy relationship is a sacred act, and should be treated accordingly. It takes courage to challenge the limiting beliefs accumulated along life's journey, and I hold deep respect for those who are willing to do so. I provide a safe and respectful environment where you can explore the patterns keeping you from living a more authentic life.

You can heal by recognizing how important your thoughts and feelings are in navigating this world. We often use our minds to solve everything and sometimes we "solve" ourselves into trouble. We become fragmented when we problem solve without taking the time to tend to our whole self. Use all of you to integrate what has been fragmented by trauma, be it divorce, depression, anxiety, family issues, grief, etc. Access your thoughts, feelings, and
spirituality
to help you become more authentically yourself, allowing you to use your strengths and create more peace in your life.

I will respect and treat you with dignity regardless of your religious affiliation,
spirituality
, estrangement from God, or if you are just curious.
Remember the saying," Two heads are better than one?" I believe counseling should be collaborative. Both counselor and client bring knowledge and experience to the table. Together we can go over what strategies have not worked and implement new ones. Many life problems are complex, having biological, psychological, and/or social factors, but all are spiritually implicated in some way. My Christ-centered approach emphasizes Biblical renewing of the mind and spiritual growth, in addition to practical, proven strategies to help you overcome. I will support and care for you, strive to restore hope, and walk with you on your journey!

Our relationship with self, family, culture, past and present traumas, friends, co-workers, finances, nature,
spirituality
, and more all have an impact on wellbeing.
I work alongside individuals, couples, and groups who are seeking to address experiences of grief, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, racial trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, spiritual abuse, PTSD, and COVID related issues. Together we will explore the ways that therapy can assist you towards achieving your personal goals for wellbeing. Healing and transformation is a lifestyle and we all require assistance in cultivating a life that will help us navigate unavoidable difficulties. Isolation works against these efforts which is why seeking therapy is truly one of the best things you can offer yourself.

We can explore the juncture of morals, values,
spirituality
, and mental and emotional health together.
Feeling unsteady, lost, overwhelmed? Work, home, family becoming a lot? Does it feel like it's all on you, alone? Seems hard to move, or maybe, it's hard to stop moving because you're afraid of what might happen if you slowed down, if you paused? Maybe it all started with a loss of a loved one, a job transition, a break-up, new relationship, or when you had children. Maybe it started long ago, and it's painful to think about. Whenever it started, did you lose yourself along the way? Are you wondering if you'll be able to enjoy relationships, work, home, yourself, again, or how you'll trust your ability to survive and thrive?

I specialize in couples therapy, where I help partners work toward relational repair after infidelity, betrayal, or ongoing conflict. I also work with individuals who want to work through attachment and relationship issues, identity development,
spirituality
, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Therapy is work that asks a great deal from us, but it also holds potential for meaningful change: to awaken to your own life, to make strides toward repairing broken bonds, and to imagine new possibilities and new ways of being, for yourself and for your relationships.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
