It’s important to me, as a human and therapist, that you are understood. One of the first things they teach counselors is to fully engage with clients through intentional listening. My goal is to meet you with compassion and curiosity in order to tackle life’s challenges with unconditional positive regard. Without this baseline of curious, active listening, there’s no room to build an invaluable therapeutic relationship, where the best healing and growth takes place. Once there we will set goals, uncover patterns and values, identify how you make meaning, and - by the end of our time together - have you closer to who you want to be.

You're deeply worthy, just as you are. Trauma, loss, and systems of oppression can create a sense of disconnection from that truth. If this is part of your experience and you're feeling lost, stuck, or hopeless, know this: the way you feel right now is valid AND your story doesn't stop there. You can reclaim your next chapter and all the rest. This journey may not be linear, and that's okay - you don't have to travel it alone. A good therapist can offer a safe, empathetic space to help you understand your past in a more compassionate way, skillfully notice and shift patterns, and embrace the inner resources you've had all along.

Everyone has a story — and sometimes, the stories we carry about ourselves, our relationships, and our challenges can feel heavy or limiting. Therapy can be a powerful way to reshape those stories, strengthen relationships, and navigate struggles like trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, family conflict, and child development. I believe that healing happens through connection, collaboration, openness to change and harnessing the strengths that already exist within you.

During the course of life, we will inevitably experience many challenges. While some of these events have the capacity to increase our resilience, others have the power to overwhelm our ability to cope. The urge to pull away from pain is instinctual, and today’s modern society is filled with countless opportunities to numb, distract, and avoid. Unfortunately, avoidance strategies rarely solve the problem. Sometimes it can be difficult to identify the source of our discontentment, as well as the factors that might be maintaining the problem. I honor the courage it takes to confront these stuck places.

Do you miss feeling comfortable in your own body?
Maybe your clothes don’t fit like they used to, your energy is low, and you feel frustrated every time you look in the mirror. You’ve tried to make changes like diets, exercise, starting fresh on Monday but nothing seems to stick. It’s not just about the weight. It’s the emotional weight too. The guilt, the shame, the stress eating, the cycle of “why can’t I just get it together?”

At the core of my treatment philosophy is the belief that families heal when movement occurs and people begin to step out of their comfort zones to unlock their potential and capacity for growth. Often there is underlying pain and/or trauma that needs to be addressed in order for the system to recover and break the cycle. Whether the results of the family dysfunction is abuse, addiction, estrangement, divorce, suicide, broken communication paths, or some other behavior, treatment can provide relief.
