There are universal experiences that can cause us to question everything we have learned about who we are within ourselves and in connection to others. It’s in these times it can be difficult to meet life on life’s terms; when looking on the bright side, persistence and grit no longer get us through the day. This has been especially true this past couple of years. The most profound change being our ability to be connected to each other and having shared experiences to look forward to.

There are times when life can become overwhelming. Depression, anxiety, grief, loss, relationship problems, job related stress and other difficulties can cause one to feel alone and unhappy. It is during these challenging times that therapy can be a positive means of support, insight, and help in finding new ways of dealing with current and/or long-standing struggles and experiences.

Over the past 30 years I have helped people dealing with Depression, Anxiety; HIV and other Chronic Illness; Childhood Trauma; Gender and Sexual Identity Issues; and Substance Use. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community from a place of inclusion, support and empowerment.

The work at FlowArt Therapy focuses on EMDR, Art Therapy, and Sex Therapy. We work with humans within the kink community, people in polyamorous and alternative relationships, people who are neurodivergent, people who are LGBTQ+, and women, trans, and nonbinary folks with traumatic backgrounds to promote sex positivity. My passion comes from life experiences & my desire to create positive changes in life. We all get stuck & that's part of being imperfectly human. I have been a licensed marriage and family therapist for 34 years. Although specializing in children and adolescents, I have experience with juvenile and adult offenders, substance abusers, and those experiencing depression, anxiety, anger management and adjustment issues. I have extensive background in providing therapy to those in our law enforcement and military communities. I am equally comfortable and experienced in providing individual, couples, and family services. For 2 decades I have empowered and walked beside many clients as they have overcome difficult and stressful issues in their lives. While I am comfortable working with many mental health issues, I have developed special interest in walking beside woman in their journey with cancer, working with individuals on the gender spectrum, working with adolescents, and walking along side of people who are experiencing grief and depression.
