I offer in-person therapy Monday and Thursdays, 0800-1400, online therapy offered at variety of times including some weekends and evenings.
I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy. I believe people already carry the seeds of healing and resilience, and my role is to create a space where those strengths can be rediscovered and supported. My experience in the field includes crisis intervention work. I can provide a space free of judgement with support provided in a compassionate, concise way. I work with adults navigating grief, loss, major life transitions, and the emotional weight that can come from caring for others or working in high-stress roles. I am a therapist for folks who have previous poor experiences with therapy.

I work with adults in person in Tacoma, WA and online across Washington and Florida.
You think fast, feel deeply, and hold a lot. From the outside, you seem steady and functioning. On the inside? You're scanning every emotion in the room, running 12 open tabs at once: other people’s feelings, systems, outcomes, and unspoken needs. You’re the go-to for problem-solving. But your own burnout or emotional overwhelm isn’t something you can think your way out of. I work with deep processors stuck in overdrive—people who are perceptive, layered, and often wondering if they’re “too much.” Together, we listen for what’s underneath and start shifting the patterns keeping you stuck.

Accepting new in-person clients in the Greater Tacoma Area and online in Washington State.
There are universal experiences that can cause us to question everything we have learned about who we are within ourselves and in connection to others. It’s in these times it can be difficult to meet life on life’s terms; when looking on the bright side, persistence and grit no longer get us through the day. This has been especially true this past severalyears. The most profound change being our ability to be connected to each other and having shared experiences to look forward to.

I see you. I see the exhaustion, overwhelm, invalidation, and chronic confusion. You’ve read the books. You’ve sought the advice. You’ve tried to be become the better partner, friend, employee, parent, and more. Always willing to adjust, accommodate, & show up in the ways others have asked. Yet your life feels bleak! Or maybe you’re constantly shutting down, overthinking every interaction, or feeling like “too much” or “not enough” in your relationships. You’re not alone and you don’t have to keep doing life this way! You deserve relationships where you feel safe, your needs are met, and there’s no need to shape-shift for love.

When our old methods of coping with life's difficulties no longer work, we can find ourselves stuck - in depression, with anxiety, feeling worthless, maybe afraid to even reach out for help. Talking with someone who can assist you in discovering what went wrong and how to heal from it could be invaluable. Each person is unique and has a story to tell. I'll want to hear your story. I strive to provide everyone with a non-judgmental, empathic atmosphere in which you can feel safe to express any experience however painful or shameful it may feel.

I believe that every person deserves the highest quality of care and that treatment decisions should be based on more than just opinion. I make an ongoing effort to keep up with the latest scientific research and offer only scientifically evaluated treatments, known as Evidence Based Practices (EBP). I place a high value on developing a warm, collaborative relationship between client and therapist and implementing EBPs in a way that honors the values and preferences of the client and family. I believe that well researched treatments provided by a skilled and engaging therapist will result in the most effective treatments.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
