My life experiences have given me the empathy and understanding needed to be a trusted psychotherapist. We can work on relationship issues, decision making, struggling through grief or divorce, PTSD, past trauma, or sexuality concerns. I have been a therapist, business woman, teacher, school counselor, university professor and mother for over 40 years, and I understand how challenging life can be!

I am a Certified Attachment Focused Therapist with 25 years of experience working with individuals who's lives have have been touched by foster care and adoption. I specialize in the treatment of attachment issues/disorders, trauma, and pre/post adoption issues for children, adults and all members of the adoption triad, using a variety of evidence based and promising practice techniques including EMDR, Attachment/Trauma Focused Therapy, Theraplay (R), IFS and other relevant therapeutic modalities. I work collaboratively with my clients to assure a safe space to be seen and heard on the path toward healing hearts and minds.

Despite our best efforts we can begin to feel discouraged, anxious, depressed and exhausted. These feelings can lead to choices and behaviors that are destructive to ourselves and those we love.

Maggie has experience working with all ages from toddlers to adults. She has spent time working in private practice, a community mental health agency and in an inpatient drug and alcohol facility providing counseling and group therapy in the Spokane area. Maggie believes that counseling can be used in a variety of ways to help clients and their families utilize strengths, accomplish goals, gain empowerment, as well as achieve growth and positive change. Maggie views her counselor role as a guide for clients to assist them in accomplishing a positive outcome from treatment.

I work with individuals, couples and families from an attachment perspective. I specialize in working with children and parents who are struggling with behavior issues, understanding their child's unique temperament, or children who have experienced trauma. In addition, I work with individuals with eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
