Hello! I'm Dr. Kristen Moore. My focus is on adult clients who have anxiety, depression, trauma, or PTSD. I strive to create a supportive environment and work with you to come up with a plan that addresses your concerns where you are right now. I believe everyone has strengths and that sometimes people become so overwhelmed they lose sight of themselves. I'm a guide that helps you find your way back and encourages you to keep moving forward. My counseling approach is to first help you clarify your presenting problems from an integrated mind-body-spirit-environment perspective. I utilize mindfulness to help you to develop clarity in the present moment, and with depth psychology, psychodynamic, EMDR, art therapy, Jungian psychology, and focusing-oriented psychotherapy to help you explore and embrace your, SELF, inner wisdom, and unconscious awareness for healing. Through processing unhealed wounds in the past, we can unveil the authentic SELF, and finding life meanings to journey on.

My approach to counseling is to focus on strengths and help to assist with solutions rather than telling my patients what to do. My focus is to address short-term problems as well as long-term psychological well-being. The more you can tell me about what and how you are feeling, the more effectively I will be able to assist you in resolving your personal problems and issues. I believe all individuals are deserving of acceptance, respect, compassion, and understanding, and all children are capable of success in academics, extracurricular activities, and social interactions.

I work with career professionals, adults, couples and teenagers who are experiencing difficulty in the office, at home or at school. I work with clients whose life experience is impacted by: trauma, relationships issues, midlife, leaving home, relocating, job loss, grief, anxiety, depression, culture shock or other significant life events including simply feeling stuck or at a loss. I bring over 30 years of professional and personal development to my work with individuals, families, adolescents, and couples. I hold a safe, secure, non-judgmental space in which to explore emotions, behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.

I am currently taking new clients on a limited basis. I work with teens and adult individuals. I specialize in trauma, which underlies many psycho-emotional problems such as anxiety and depression. However, I am chiefly interested in working with people experiencing important life transitions and challenges, especially when they feel stuck, confused, or lost. I work with children experiencing anxiety, depression, and home/school challenges. Supporting children usually involves working with parents/guardians and families. I enjoy working with individual adults interested in understanding themselves, their relationships, and their actions. My therapy practice includes play therapy and art therapy, sand-play, active listening, family systems work, and parenting education. I am curious and compassionate in my relationship to clients with varying needs and backgrounds.

I am passionate about working with Asian Americans and the Chinese population. I have a lot of experience in helping international students and employees navigate life transitions and challenges. My clinical areas of specialty include personal growth and development, anxiety and depression, interpersonal problems, grief and loss issues, trauma, and stress-related problems. I believe the difficulties serve a purpose: to provide us the chance to reveal authenticity and completeness in our life. Life seems to be falling apart when you focus on the broken pieces. I will help you see how they will come together to form the whole.
