As a provider coming from clinical work in community and institutional settings, I have had the privilege of working alongside a wide array of individuals. My approach has become a constellation of theoretical orientations. I believe wholeheartedly in the potential for growth via the therapeutic relationship, and most shiningly, the beauty of human resilience. Mental health symptoms and addictions are nothing but survival skills begging to be transmuted. Unaddressed trauma as been the focus of my work, and I lean on mindfulness and the power of its practice to retrain the brain’s most reactive pathways.

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and bring a genuine curiosity to each person’s unique experiences and inner world. I believe we all carry beliefs, patterns, and wounds shaped early in life, many of which no longer serve us. You may feel ready for change, tired of repeating the same cycles, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself. I offer a warm, grounding space where you can explore the emotions, patterns, and stories that shape your life.

I have been in the helping profession for over 25 years and have worked in many different roles during that time. I have worked with children to older adults and all ages in between. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHCA), and have worked with those with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, as well as Bipolar disorder. I prefer to use a client centered approach, in which we would work collaboratively to determine the best course to take in addressing your needs and concerns and helping to decrease problem symptoms.

Whether you want to halt an addiction, find healing from past sexual abuse, or rekindle your marriage, I will help you identify what is holding you back.
Maybe you've tried to change your compulsive behavior and it seems impossible. Or you've hit a wall in your key relationship, and your discouragement keeps you from taking action. Perhaps you feel burdened by trauma in your past and it still weighs on you. The truth is that your life doesn't have to stay as it is. Your habits don't have to stay the way they are. And you certainly don't have to be mired in guilt or shame.

The therapeutic relationship should be a safe place to breathe. Come catch your breath, and get clear about the growth you're finally ready for. Learn to see your questions, yourself and your relationships in new ways. Curiosity & compassion can turn chaos into insight and paralysis into courage. Use your courage to apply your learning in real time. Try new skills, experiment. You'll know you've got the hang of it when success and failure are both progress! With skills & perspective your experience of uncertainty can shift from anxiety to excitement. What about you and your world will become possible?

Have you been spending so much energy adapting and adjusting that you've lost touch with what you actually need? Maybe you're carrying something heavy, or simply longing for a space where you can breathe and be yourself. Whatever brought you here, you deserve support that's built around your life, not the other way around. My path to becoming a therapist wasn't a straight line. I've lived enough to know that everyone's story is complicated, messy, and worth honoring exactly as it is. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life.

Self-improvement. Relationship issues. Anxiety. Unhelpful thoughts or behaviors. These are some of the concerns that bring people, just like you, to my counseling practice. I value and work with the strengths, imperfections, gifts, genetics, history and humanity of each person or family, as these aspects inform and shape who we are. I support clients in identifying a values-based direction for positive change and explore both what motivates change and the barriers that are getting in the way. Together, we create a road map to a healthier life for you or your family.

I take the mysticism out of therapy. We both know that not everything is "about your mother." Figuring out why you are the way you are can be interesting and even enlightening, but it's worthless if you're still experiencing the same emotional pain. You have the ability to make changes in your life. Things don't have to stay the same.

I love the ability to do play therapy with children in one session, to processing complicated trauma of intimate partner violence with an adult in the next session.
I believe that everyone has the ability to heal from complex life situations with the help of a supportive ally. Whether it be evaluating your intimate relationships, managing high anxiety that just keeps getting in your way, or finding someone to help your kid or teen deal with emotions - I'm ready to do that complex work. I strive to cultivate the safest space for people to process all that the world throws their way. I honor that the therapeutic process includes genuine acceptance and a healthy dose of humor.
