I help people with depression, anxiety, stress , and life challenges.
I believe therapy should be a normal part of life and accessible to all. We all experience challenges and need help from time to time. Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health. My role in therapy is a coach, consultant and collaborator. It is important to build on your strengths because it enables you to change from a place of empowerment. To me, the goal of counseling is to gain insight through reflection, and to build concrete skills so that when future challenges arise, you are better prepared.

Stress management tools such as mindfulness and other creative practices will be utilized in sessions.
Spirituality is my focus. I support clients on their spiritual exploration and growth. We live in an increasingly complex and stressful world. Many people are suffering under the weight of societal pressures and expectations, which separate us from the heart of what it means to be human living a meaningful and purposeful life. I work with people who struggle to make sense of themselves and their lives. Many have achieved a secure and abundant life, having gained success in careers and fields that provide for their material needs, but their souls are feeling restless and craving real nourishment.

I am knowledgeable and experienced in the modern world of work and can help you navigate practical career challenges such as excessive stress , dread, failure, interpersonal conflicts, or lack of purpose, satisfaction, and meaning.
My practice is rooted in the idea that symptoms such as anxiety, disruption, or discontent can guide us in life if we step beyond formulas and certainties, toward a more curious and imaginative mode of being. By artfully seeking to understand emotional suffering, and through deepening relational connection, we can arrive at relief and healing. Uncovering and accommodating what has been previously outside of awareness releases meaning and allows for greater freedom of thought, self-expression, and wholeness.

While I work with a wide range of adult clients, most often I work with clients who are struggling through stress , depression, traumatic experiences and anxiety.
Counseling is a space where we focus with intensity and grace on the areas of life that feel chaotic or stagnant. It’s a space to bring understanding to parts that have remained silent or provide comfort to the internal voices that have needed to be too loud. It’s a space to become more connected and integrated, more whole.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples, and I specialize in working with those who struggle with anxiety, stress , or depression. These issues are particularly important to me because they can be debilitating, and yet they are often treatable. I use evidence-based practices to help reduce and decrease symptoms. It is truly an honor to walk alongside a client as they deepen their self-awareness, ponder their values and align those values with their goals in life. There is great strength in the human spirit, and it can empower individuals to make meaningful changes through discipline and hard work.

I work with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, stress , and trauma. My clients might feel stuck in relationships or be struggling with creating healthy boundaries. Over time my clients gain more self-compassion and confidence as we work together on uncovering stories that have contributed to what they’re wrestling with. Many of the mental health struggles we face are rooted in deeper stories that need to be expressed. By looking at those stories we can understand more of how they have helped shaped us into who we are and how that impacts us now relationally.

I primarily offer cognitive-behavioral therapies with good scientific backing, and I combine non-judgmental support + practical skills. How can I find a therapist in Seattle?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
