Multiverse Coaching: Making Real The Infinite Possibilities of You. Whatever difficulties may beset us, when we discover and realize our meanings and purposes, we gain the freedom to choose our destiny. My job is to be your guide. In the complex ecology within you, there are many dimensions, levels, and facets. I will help you discover, explore, and develop them so you can be the person you want to become and, perhaps, yet to imagine. People dream of doing this or that but never do. They resign themselves to a fate with few possibilities. This is sad, but it is an illusion. An infinite personality resides in us all.

Love. Joy. Ecstasy. Awe. In my 16 years of clinical experience, I’ve discovered that we each have far more capacity for these expansive feelings than we often realize. Whether you are struggling to get through the daily grind, or feel ready to fly through the stars, I can work with you collaboratively to shape a life that fulfills your highest dreams, and maybe even soars beyond them! I’m eager to share what I’ve learned about our abilities to break out of old patterns of shame, hurt, and fear into fruitful creativity and communion with the most inspiring aspects of being alive.

At some point, many of us can be overwhelmed by feelings anxiety, anger, disconnectedness -- or maybe we simply feel stuck in life. These painful places are not just emotional experiences; they can also be seen as spiritual. They carry the potential to transform us. My goal is to help you discover greater freedom by connecting with your own deepest wisdom.

Spirituality
is my focus. I support clients on their spiritual exploration and growth. We live in an increasingly complex and stressful world. Many people are suffering under the weight of societal pressures and expectations, which separate us from the heart of what it means to be human living a meaningful and purposeful life. I work with people who struggle to make sense of themselves and their lives. Many have achieved a secure and abundant life, having gained success in careers and fields that provide for their material needs, but their souls are feeling restless and craving real nourishment.

Spirituality
is the foundation of the form of synthesized addiction and mental health counseling I offer. My clients engage in the powerful experience of looking within themselves in order to reconnect with their own source, which powerfully transforms their relationships with others, and most importantly, the relationship with oneself. Throughout this individualized process, clients are better able to release self-destructive thought and behavior patterns, which greatly enhances the quality of daily life. I have counseled many men and women both in and out of addiction recovery and am well versed in spiritual recovery methods and trauma-informed healing modalities.

I truly believe that we have the innate capacity to heal ourselves, & within us, the keys necessary to accessing our own true nature. We can be cut off from our own wisdom, preventing us from accessing & recognizing our strengths, our gifts, our love, our joy--the very essence of what we have to offer the world. My role as therapist is supportive and collaborative, towards helping you to discover...& recover...missing or lost pieces. I employ an intersectional lens to my areas of interest which include identity work,
spirituality
, trans*& LGBQI issues, grief & loss, anxiety, & depression.

spirituality

I help people develop resources to work more mindfully with impermanence. Aging, illness, death, identity transitions, relationships – all bring us face to face with fear, anxiety, and insecurity. The courage and wisdom to live through change and loss become possible with a clear, steady commitment to loving oneself and others. I work with my clients to become curious, have a sense of humor, feel grace, cultivate friendships, and embody kindness in order to access joy in the everyday moments of life, even with life's many challenges.

I offer EMDR, mindfulness tools, compassionate grief support, and tools to help people feel resourced by their
spirituality
(if that's desired).
I love working with people who feel sensitive or intuitive, and might struggle with anxiety, self-worth, relational issues, trauma (trauma is our body's reaction to what happened, and no trauma is too big or small to seek help). My approach is gentle, relational, and somatic. My background is in systems psychology, which focuses on how we function as a part of many interrelated systems—including families, social groups, our physical environment, and different aspects of ourselves. I also studied humanistic modalities, supporting the idea that we will naturally move toward growth and creativity when we’re truly seen and supported.

When life becomes overwhelming, whether from a specific event or exhaustion over time, we can begin our healing journey right where the difficulty began, in relationship. The client-counselor relationship is the foundation of our work together. In addition, therapy is an opportunity to give focused attention to the various parts and pieces of ourselves that have been hurting, and offer them truth and care, so we can step further toward our truest selves. If we engage our story, lifestyle, and bodily sensations with curiosity, and a desire to heal, then we can open up to breathtaking transformation.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.
What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.
Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.
How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
