I use a trauma-informed somatic approach to help you connect with your inner strength and resiliency.
We all want to feel safe, loved, connected, and happy. This can be hard to attain when we have struggled through trauma, abandonment, rejection, shame and loss. Often these experiences create a feeling of "not good enough" that is really tough to overcome on our own. We need a healing container where we can be real, vulnerable, and messy, and be met with gentleness, compassion, and authentic acceptance. From this place of being seen and feeling safe, we can learn different ways of being with others and ourselves. This is what I am honored to offer to you, wherever you are on your path.

This multi-modal approach assists in the development of somatic awareness, nurtures creativity, creates change and encourages integration.
As a Certified Hakomi Therapist my offering is a Somatic Experiential Psychotherapy modality that is gentle, non-judgmental, and compassionate; a form of assisted self-study where the client studies his or her responses to explorations in a mindful state of consciousness. We become aware and touch upon the very organizing experiences that have been a part of our habitual life - the patterns that no long serve us. We increase clarity, creativity, confidence and awareness and break through obstacles towards ease, connection and vitality. I am available for phone or online sessions.

My approach is relational and somatic; heavily rooted in attachment theory.
This first step is hard. I see you. I specialize in working with trauma and relational ruptures throughout the lifetime - this may be a single incident trauma, developmental or attachment trauma, trust violations, communication, intimacy, or emotional overwhelm. I currently have limited telehealth and in-person openings to work with adult individuals and dyadic relationships. I support those who are poly, ENM, kinky, queer, trans, living with HIV, and those who do consensual sex work.

I most often weave in the following: psychodynamic exploration, Somatic Experiencing (SE), parts work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skill-building and mindfulness.
With a therapeutic style that is gentle, warm, relational, strengths-based and informed by values of compassion and anti-oppression, I collaborate with clients as they move towards their goals and desires. The clients I work with are often learning to cultivate healthy relationships, healing trauma, tending to anxiety, depression and neurodivergence (often late-diagnosed ADHD and/or autism), exploring identity (racial, gender, sexual etc.), grieving a loss, and/or cultivating a stronger sense of self-worth. If you would like to learn more, I would be happy to schedule a free consultation call!

In addition to trauma modalities, I integrate somatic, mindfulness, parts work, attachment and polyvagal theories, and neuroscience.
Many people think their issues are irresolvable, that they just have to "live with it." My clinical experience tells me that's just not the case. I am passionate about working with motivated adults who want to move beyond their trauma. I weave together powerful modalities like Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to treat current stressors, acute traumas, ongoing early childhood trauma, anxiety/depression, grief and loss, PTSD, interpersonal conflict, attachment issues, anger issues and more. In addition, veterans, first responders, healthcare workers are also great candidates for this work.

I bring a collaborative spirit to our work together, emphasizing mindful presence, somatic awareness, existential inquiry, nature, and strength-based processes.
I offer a welcoming space to explore how disorienting transitions, loss, intense challenges and illnesses can hold within them the possibility for profound personal transformation, renewed vitality, and deeper connections. It was my own journey with chronic illness that began in my twenties that evolved into a calling to support others in their healing. Since 2008, I have worked as a licensed naturopathic physician, health coach, author, educator, and now mental health counselor. My personal and professional experiences have engendered an embodied compassion and humility for the ways in which life can bring us to our knees.
