I treat insomnia and other sleep disorders; concerns relating to perimenopause and menopause; and mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.
I use a combination of warmth, curiosity, honesty, and respectful humor, and I take a collaborative approach to therapy – while I will always prioritize listening closely to what you’re saying, I’ll also share my own thoughts and perspectives as they arise. I work well with individuals who are actively engaged in therapy and who trust - or would like to trust - their own experience as a valid guide. I see you as the only person who can truly decide what is important to you, and I see myself as someone who can offer some insights and tools that will help you get closer to it.

I work with patients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, difficulty with concentration and poor memory.
Naturopathic medicine brings together the best of modern and traditional medicine, giving me the flexibility to prescribe or manage anti depressant medications when indicated, or helping patients approach their mood with more natural support. This is especially helpful for patients experiencing unpleasant side effects to their medications.

My specialties are depression, insomnia, OCD and parenting.
Traditional talk therapy isn't your only option. For some people, a more behavioral approach with homework and accountability can be helpful. My clients and I explore evidence-based treatments for all three areas of mental health: behaviors, thoughts and emotions. Then, together, we create an individualized treatment plan that we revise as we go. Most often, we explore present-day experiences with a bit less focus on the past.

Hypnosis creates a natural bridge between mind and body, and it's a proven method for relieving pain, improving sleep, releasing anxiety, and replacing self-sabotage with new choices.
Why hypnotherapy? Because it is solution oriented, not problem oriented. Although an obstacles seem to demand our analysis and even preoccupation, hypnotherapy is focused on moving through and beyond those obstacles. By allowing our conscious awareness to align with our powerful unconscious minds, we generate lasting change.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
