While I work with all populations, I particularly enjoy providing an affirming and inclusive space for those in the queer, neurodivergent, non-monogamy, and kink communities.
As a neurodivergent, queer, non-binary therapist, I understand the importance of a therapist who understands an intersectional experience of life. My practice is dedicated to providing a safe space, particularly for marginalized communities. In addition to neurodivergent and LGBTQIA communities, I also provide a safe space to explore kink, sexuality, and non-monogamy.

I am also BIPOC, kink, and CNM affirming.
Many of us feel out of step with others around us. Difficulties with completing tasks and organization lead to struggles and frustration in relationships. Difficulty with social skills and anxiety make it hard to reach out to others for friendship or dating. Some of us feel shame and isolation from ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodiversity. Our unique hobbies or interests keep us out of step. Shame keeps us from exploring who we are in friendships, dating, and sexually. People often do not see us. We feel alone. This manifests as depression, anxiety, and difficulty regulating our emotions.

My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, relational, sex and body-positive, and affirming of queer, polyamory, and kink identities.
The past is just a story we tell ourselves. Through early formative experiences, we mold core beliefs about belonging, worth, and lovability. Therapy is a place to untangle the narratives we have internalized (perhaps unconsciously) and impact our ability to show up in the world authentically and connect with others deeply. Understanding our past can help us bring compassion and awareness to the present moment. Let us bravely explore the complexity and messiness of the human experience - embracing all that you are.

Let’s face it: it’s hard to be a human in these times! Creating a brave and supportive space where you can explore your authentic self and access your own inherent wisdom is at the heart of my practice. As a queer & nonbinary therapist, I’m particularly passionate about fostering healing within LGBTQ+, non-monogamous, and kink communities, because I know how important it is to work with someone who understands and affirms your identities and lifestyle. Whatever challenges you are facing, together we can learn how to hold space for it all: the trauma, joy, pain, beauty, grief, strength, uncertainty, and everything in between.

I offer a judgment-free space that is sex-positive, kink knowledgeable, inclusive of non-monogamy & fat friendly (HAES).
I love working with folks who are interested in learning more about how systems of oppression negatively impact our lives, and who are wanting an affirming and non-pathologizing space to unpack and process how these systems negatively impact mental health & our ability to live as our liberated and authentic selves. As a Certified Sex Therapist I see many clients who are struggling with issues relating to sexuality or sexual functioning, but often clients also seek me out for overall mental health issues and/or relational issues and sexual issues may come up as well. I welcome all neurotypes, and myself am neurodivergent.

I offer affirmative, sex-positive support for diverse relationship structures and lifestyles, including polyamory, sex work, and kink identities.
Do you ever worry that you're 'too much' or 'not enough'? Would you be happier if you were different? Those feelings are common, especially for people of marginalized identity. In the therapy space, my goal is to deconstruct narratives about what you're 'supposed' to be and instead, help you love who you are right now. I specialize in supporting individuals as they navigate the complexities of LGBTQ+ identities, trauma, alternative relationship dynamics, and intersectionality.

My therapy practice will always remain anti-racist, body & sex positive/accepting, and gender affirming.
Hello! Welcome to therapy. I’m Madeleine. If you are seeking therapy, you may be struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, family/relationship issues, or perhaps you just need someone to talk to without fear of being judged. I use a collaborative approach and believe that you are the expert in your own life. We will work together to identify any patterns of behavior that you feel are interfering with your life, discuss the ways your family, environment, and society may be reinforcing these, and develop the skills to alter or cope with these patterns more effectively.

I work with people struggling with feelings of emptiness and overwhelm, seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, and hoping to integrate their self-awareness with their behavior and habits. We will explore your past experiences, relationships, and internal systems of values and beliefs to generate insight and movement into the places you feel stuck. I will attend to the details, emotions, and patterns you bring into the therapy room and work with you to create new meanings in familiar places. I am experienced in working with trauma, neurodiversity, and the LGBTQ+ and kink communities.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists

Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?

Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?

Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
