Personality Disorders Therapists in Seattle, WA
I am an experiential therapist and work with challenges around emotion regulation, mood regulation, personality disorders and trauma using both talk therapy and body-based practices to heal from within.
You have struggled with feeling, naming, tolerating, regulating and expressing your emotions. You may have been diagnosed with CPTSD, Bipolar disorder, or Borderline personality disorder. You may have been in therapy for years, done DBT, and it has been helpful, but you find yourself wondering if there might be something more. Something feels like it's missing. The deep wounding is still there. You may have heard your intuition whispering to you, but have been afraid to listen and trust what its communicating. You want to connect with your most authentic Self and live the life you want. You CAN, and there IS more.

If you have been told by other providers your conditions are too severe for private practice or you have BiPolar, Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder, self-harming behaviors, suicidal thoughts, I can help you take the necessary steps for self acceptance.
What If Counseling Was Actually Helpful AND Fun?
Support doesn’t have to feel clinical or uncomfortable. I believe healing works best when it’s genuine, empowering, and—yes—even a little fun. I bring humor, honesty, and compassion into every session to help you feel seen, supported, and accepted for who you are.
I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds who face complex, multi-layered challenges. Many therapists shy away from certain diagnoses, but I believe in destigmatizing all mental health concerns. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore even the most confusing or painful emotions.

Life comes with challenges; at times it feels like they keep piling on, making it difficult not to become overwhelmed. This overwhelm can be magnified when we feel as if we’re facing hardship alone. Powerlessness to make a meaningful difference, despite our best efforts, can be disheartening. During these times the weight of our burdens seem unbearable; the path forward unclear. You don't have to navigate this alone. As your therapist, I'll meet you where you are using a trauma-informed, neurobiologically based approach to help you understand how your brain works, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and build skills for managing distress.

Pain is the best teacher, but often it can be difficult to understand what emotional pain is trying to speak. It may be trying to get your attention through an unwanted behavior, an unbearable feeling, or an unbreakable thought pattern. It may show itself in repeated relational dysfunction, addiction, or disturbances in mood or sleep. I find I work well with people who are exhausted from trying to manage or control emotional pain, and are ready to face it holistically and head-on. I also help people suffering from complicated and acute psychological problems which have not responded well to other therapy treatments.

I approach therapy first and foremost as a relationship and focus on the parts of you that may not be fully conscious. Often, meaningful change happens not by forcing it, but by allowing something deeper in you—something naturally oriented toward growth and wholeness—to lead the way.

Many of my clients have been the truth-teller, problem solver, or black sheep in families carrying trauma many generations back. They have often lived through abuse, gaslighting, neglect, chronic illness, self-harm, or suicide attempts. Yet they are resilient, perceptive, and often very funny. Many have tried therapy before and want something deeper than surface-level support. They want a roadmap and a serious plan for healing. They want relief from trauma symptoms and a way out of the systems they were born into. They are driven by the desire for something better for themselves. They are the survivors who break the cycle.

Personality Disorders Therapists
What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?
Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.
When to seek treatment for personality disorders?
Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.
How long does therapy take for personality disorders?
The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specializes in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.
Can therapy help people with personality disorders?
Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
