Infidelity Therapists in Seattle, WA
Stress in relationships, parenting demands, grief, betrayal, loneliness, or major life changes can slowly wear away at your sense of confidence and direction.
One of our first tasks will be to develop more space between what you feel and what you do about it. Many clients feel relief as they respond to stress with less criticism, shutdown, or overwhelm. Over time, therapy can help you develop greater trust in yourself, leading to more fulfilling relationships, greater peace, and deep relief.

If you keep having the same argument, you’re not alone—and your relationship is probably not broken. Most couples I see still care deeply about each other. They’re simply stuck in a cycle where one partner pushes, and the other shuts down, and the same fight keeps repeating. My role is to help couples interrupt that pattern, stabilize communication, and create a way forward before frustration turns into distance.

In my work with clients, the major areas of focus include: issues with relationship conflict, sexual compatibility, infidelity and intimacy.
Sex therapy can be intimidating. I'm often asked, "what is that?" It is therapy that focuses on specific sexual issues. Learning about oneself, learning about a partner, and learning how to more effectively communicate needs and desires. People/relationships and sex, in therapy even, go hand in hand.

Most couples who find their way here have already tried talking it through — and keep ending up in the same place.
Most couples who find their way here have already tried talking it through — and keep ending up in the same place. The problem usually isn't effort or intention. It's that they're missing a framework built on what actually works. I'm a Gottman Method Level 3 practitioner with 15 years teaching communication at NYU Tisch. I work with couples navigating conflict, emotional distance, eroded trust, and affair recovery — and with individuals dealing with anxiety, burnout, and major life transitions.

As a therapist, I believe first and foremost in the healing and growth that can happen in relationship. My therapeutic approach is about meeting people where they are, and engaging each individual in a healing dialogue that is appropriate and specific to his or her life. I am a process oriented therapist. This means that I am primarily interested in understanding the process through which my clients respond to the world and how they make meaning out of their experiences. My goal is to facilitate increased awareness in my clients and improve agency, choice, and connection in their lives.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
