My ideal clients are families who feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure how to help a loved one struggling with addiction or mental health challenges. They want guidance they can trust, a clear plan forward, and support that honors both the individual and the family system. They are seeking relief from crisis, hope for change, and a path that leads to lasting healing rather than short-term fixes.

As a clinical therapist, I help people who are struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression and loss. I teach my clients to practice what I call "the reverse golden rule": treat yourself as you would treat others! We are often so critical of ourselves, while with a friend we would be kind, supportive, compassionate. My 20+ years of experience have given me the tools to work using an eclectic approach that I tailor to each client. I offer a comfortable, safe environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, where you can feel heard, understood and validated.

I work best with people who feel disconnected in their relationships. Many have tried therapy and left feeling unchanged. Some carry trauma they never unpacked. Most are simply ready for life to feel easier. You want someone who listens, doesn’t judge, and helps you understand what you feel. You want tools so your emotions stop running your life and relationships. You want relief that lasts. Most people come to me because they feel stuck in patterns they can’t shake. They shut down, react fast, or disconnect without meaning to. These responses usually started as protection, but now they get in the way.

Many capable, high-functioning adults reach a point where effort no longer brings clarity. Burnout, loss of meaning, vocational confusion, or faith-related disorientation can quietly destabilize an otherwise functional life. I work with adults seeking orientation and clarity during these moments. In addition to insurance-based therapy through Mindful Therapy Group, I offer a limited number of Meaning & Direction Intensives—private, extended consultations designed to provide focused clarity without the constraints of insurance or diagnosis.

During our lives, we encounter experiences that can move us away from a direct connection to ourselves. Influences from family, friends, peers, jobs, and the greater culture can affect how we view and express ourselves. We can become conditioned to thinking, feeling and behaving in a way that is incompatible with who we really are and what we want in our lives. This compromises our ability to value our unique identity and to express and apply ourselves, and our strengths. I will help you to identify, understand and remove barriers that are keeping you from realizing your fullest potential. I only offer Telehealth in California.

My first experience with psychology came at the age of 8 when my parents took me to see their counselor, Greg. He was so helpful that I was inspired to follow in his footsteps and become a counselor too. Today, after almost 20 years, I feel fortunate to be able say that I still love what I do.

I am a Christian counselor/coach and I am passionate about helping men experience freedom from compulsive behaviors and, as a result, a deeper connection with God, themselves, and others. I specialize in helping men struggling with addictive and compulsive behaviors like pornography, sex, drugs, alcohol, food, work, video games, relationships, etc. After more than 20 years of experience, I have found that true lasting healing does not happen in isolation. Weekly recovery groups provide the accountability, honesty, and brotherhood required for lasting transformation. That is why I now fully focus on the power of group work.

Each person possesses the innate ability to learn, grow, and make meaningful changes in their personal lives, relationships, and circumstances. In my practice, I strive to help individuals explore and understand the thought patterns and behaviors that may be influencing their lives, often in ways they aren't fully aware of. Many times, these unconscious patterns can lead to repetitive behaviors, creating dissatisfaction and emotional challenges. I believe that every individual has the potential to grow from both their positive and negative experiences, and it is my goal to support clients in discovering their own paths.

Gambling Therapists
How do gambling rehabilitation programs work?
There are both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. However, for some individuals, an outpatient facility may not offer enough hands-on care, and for other individuals, an inpatient facility may be too much. Both types of care have knowledgeable health professionals including physicians (in the case of residential programs), psychologists, counselors, psychotherapists, and recovered mentors.

How do gambling 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Abstinence and maintenance are key for 12-step gambling disorder programs. Individuals in a 12-step group rely on each other for support and accountability. In addition, there is often a spiritual element to these programs, whereby belief in a higher power can help the individual overcome their tendencies. If an individual genuinely wants to cease gambling, attending a 12-step program along with regular psychotherapy can be highly effective.

How long does therapy take for gambling disorder?
Recovering from gambling disorder takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but a person can see change if they stick with therapy and if they have the will and desire to stop. Treatment for gambling disorder requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers, as well as the development of coping skills. Making lifestyle changes is also important, such as staying away from lotteries, online gambling, and casinos.

Is relapse a problem for those with a gambling disorder?
Gambling disorder is often chronic and can be life-long; therefore relapse may present a problem for some individuals. But effective treatment can bring a person’s life under control. To remain healthy and on track, the individual may need to regularly check in with their support group or psychotherapist. Frequently refreshing their tools of recovery can be helpful.
