I take a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy that is informed by intersectional feminist, person-centered, LGBTQIA+ affirming, weight-neutral, and fat-positive perspectives.
Many people seek therapy when they feel disconnected from themselves, their story, their body, or their community. As a therapist, I understand that being human can be complex, challenging, and even messy. However, it can also be beautiful and delightful, especially when on a healing journey. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients connect with their innate ability to heal and grow. I believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives and experiences, and my role is to support and empower them throughout the process.

As a therapist, I move through sessions with a person-centered, feminist, and multicultural lens.
Life can be isolating at times. This is especially true when you add in ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, chronic illness, and Queerness, cultural, and relationship issues. We hold so many identities and struggles that influence who we are and how we move through our place in the world. It is essential to find yourself among those identities and move into the whole version of yourself that finds comfort in the here and now. This includes finding your community and support through all that life throws at us.

My work draws from attachment, narrative, and feminist approaches, and I am committed to the belief that you already have within you the knowledge and strength you need to move towards a greater sense of freedom in your life.
Society, family, culture, and other systems often send us mixed messages about how we should move in the world, creating dissonance and internal conflict. At times, we may lose sight of what we want for ourselves in the midst of competing voices and priorities that pull for our attention. I strive to create a safe space and work collaboratively with clients to step into the driver’s seat in discovering and reaching their own goals. Through shared exploration, we can clarify your understanding of yourself, your identity, and your story, and foster greater self-compassion and confidence to carry you through life's challenges.

My ideologies are grounded in: social justice, fostering resilience, Black Feminist theory, Queer theory, a HAES model, and trauma informed practice.
I believe that healing occurs through relationships. Our society operates in a framework of white supremacy that often leaves us isolated and pathologizes our ways of being in the world. I work with clients to co-create a space to explore pathways to regulation, coping, adaptation, and healing where you feel seen, heard, challenged, and accepted.

I utilize a multifaceted therapeutic approach that includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), feminist theory, multicultural, and person-centered therapy.
Being a human can be a struggle even in the best of times. For many of us, now is not the best of times, making support for your mental health and well-being more important than ever. As your therapist, I hope to hold space and walk alongside you in whatever season of life you are experiencing. With warmth, humor, sincerity, and care, I strive to build a relationship with each of my clients that cultivates empowerment and deep compassion for self. I believe that change is possible for everyone and anyone when they have the right support.

My approach incorporates elements of the psychoanalytic, existential, and feminist therapy traditions.
Are you looking for a different kind of therapy? Simple solutions have not worked for you and you want to explore yourself more deeply, to really understand what's going on within you. You want to work with a therapist who can relate to what you're going through, as a queer person, as a neurodivergent person, as someone with trauma, but doesn't project their experiences onto you or expect to "cure" you with easy answers. You want to be not just listened to, but heard. You want someone who can hold space for you in all your complexity, and who can help you navigate the choppy waters of your struggles and find safe harbor.

I practice feminist and contemporary psychodynamic therapy with a dash of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Current openings! Many people think their problems aren't bad enough to seek help and continue suffering in the status quo - but if you're reading this, you must be getting exhausted! You might be wondering why you have such big reactions to minor inconveniences, or why things seem to come easy for everyone else. You've probably tried all the "self care" and are frustrated that you're still struggling. I have a particular interest in working with late or self diagnosed neurodivergent women and chronic illness sufferers. If your anxiety or pain is increasing, or you just have a sense that things are "off," maybe I can help!

By conceptualizing complex forms of trauma from a feminist perspective, I investigate issues of gender, power, and culture, and identify them as the center of oppression, distress, and dysfunction in a person's life.
In my work with clients, I strive to create safe, respectful, and compassionate relationships, to help them understand and transform their pain, and to guide them toward new ways of being with themselves, with others, and with their larger communities. I focus on clients' strengths and resiliencies to help them feel empowered toward positive change.

I embrace queer, punk, and feminist ethics to support my community authentically.
Do you get thrown off center easily? Are you noticing patterns in your life you’d like to change, or experiencing despair, shame, or anxiety about who you are and what your life looks and feels like? We are shaped by the world around us, influenced by our experiences and relationships with not only other people, but with animals, plants, places, and all of the nonhuman world. We all experience pain and weather grief and loss, sometimes in hidden or unacknowledged ways. Therapy can be used to bring conscious awareness to elements in our lives which impact or limit us.

I work from an Existential- Feminist perspective, which means I value authenticity, frankness, warmth, and humor in the therapy relationship.

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed and intersectional feminist lens.
You may be ready to make a change, yet are unsure of which way to move or feel too frozen to take a step. Perhaps it is overwhelming to inhabit your body or revisit the past, you fear that you’ll be flooded by sensations or memories. Maybe a part of you wants to connect with others and another part worries that you'll just be hurt again. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I believe that you have the innate capacity for healing within you. Therapy is a way to cultivate the right conditions for healing seeds to bloom. I aim to create a warm and accepting space - one that can foster insight, growth, belonging, and even joy.

Feminist Therapists
How does feminist therapy work?
Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.
What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?
Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.
How long does feminist therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
Does feminist therapy work?
As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
