I help adults (18+) and couples find deeper satisfaction in their lives and relationships through awareness-based interventions. All of us need support as we move through our lives because living inevitably brings suffering as part of the process. If you're experiencing distress and dissatisfaction, I want you to know you're doing nothing wrong, and at the same time, I want to invite you to explore how you might be able to shift your patterns of feeling, thought, behavior, & belief so you can have new experiences that are healing, reparative, and restore your hope, vitality, and ease.

I work with issues related to
codependency
, unwanted sexual behaviors, major life transitions, identity shifts, grief and loss, and sexual abuse.
Counseling is a space where we get to focus on helping you move towards a life that is more fulfilling, meaningful, and connected. I work with people struggling with anxious thoughts, depression, or challenging relationships. Some are trying to navigate dating, intimacy, and partnership. Some have experienced spirit abuse or are coming out of religious systems that have left them confused and even traumatized. Some of the people I work with are unpacking their past and trying to be free of difficult patterns. Many people are just stuck and want some help figuring out why. Counseling helps you get unstuck.

I work with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, abuse,
codependency
and relationship issues. I do not pathologize issues, challenges, problems or people. The soul is always seeking expression, not just with joy and happiness, but also through challenges and sorrows. When we honor all aspects of our life stories, healing pathways begin to open up for us.

I am passionate about working with the queer community as well as providing resources and tools to those navigating
codependency
, anxiety, trauma, self-image, body neutrality, and attachment.
The best way to get to the heart is through art. My name is Sarah Engelskirchen-Bugler, and I created Heart 2 Art Therapy, PLLC in order to offer an accessible and expansive pathway towards processing, healing, and empowerment through the expressive arts. While I specialize in utilizing visual art, writing, music, movement, and other transformative somatic approaches, my toolbox also consists of a variety of other person-centered, trauma-focused, and strengths-based modalities. In my work, I have found that everyone has a unique story to tell, and everyone is the expert of their own stories.

I work with teens and adults who are in search of relief from stress, anxiety, panic, anger, low-self-esteem, depression, and relationship issues such as
codependency
. In my practice, I recognize that being human is complex. Big and small traumas can hold someone back from taking care of themselves, seeing their potential, forming meaningful relationships, taking aligned risks, and living an authentic life. If you are interested in getting to the root of lifelong patterns and emotional triggers that are keeping you from living your best life, then I would love to join you on your healing journey.

I started Flourish Beyond Therapy for girls and women who are tired of dealing with low self-esteem and
codependency
. My clients are competent, strong, and full of potential, but they don’t believe this about themselves when they first start meeting with me. They usually believe themselves to be incompetent, inadequate, and unwanted. You have an endless amount of potential hiding inside of you, let’s uncover it together.

You are sensitive to your environment, the energy of others, and can quickly read the emotional climate of a room. Your intuition is powerful and you feel very deeply and intensely. Often my clients are in a stuck place, a life transition, grieving a loss, or wanting to change relational patterns. I see clients with a variety of needs and areas they want to focus on or improve like boundaries or
codependency
. In addition, I am particularly attuned to addressing the specific healing needs of the those recovering from complex trauma such as childhood neglect, abuse, domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, or religious trauma syndrome.

My experience as a counselor has equipped me to work with individuals, couples and families with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, addiction,
codependency
, trauma, and relationship issues.
I believe that therapy is about mining for an enlivened authenticity while reorienting one’s relationship to suffering. In successful therapy, the therapist is providing for the client a relationship unlike any the client has had before, where difficult - and often vulnerable - conversations are fostered within a safe container. From this is born new and more adaptive coping strategies, ways to move through conflict and pain, and recurring invitations to return to the present moment - with compassion.

codependency
issues, challenged by anxiety, processing grief/loss, and dealing with the impacts of trauma. We are all trying to find solutions to our problems, however sometimes those solutions have just created more problems. Therapy is great tool to help us understand those patterns, try a different approach, and rewire ourselves for sustained growth and change.

I enjoy helping those struggling with unfulfilled at work/career/school, video game addiction and screen time, ADHD, social anxiety,
codependency
, break ups, health anxiety, obsessive thoughts, depression, bullying, anger, life changes, loneliness, and identity struggles.
Accepting new clients. How do you handle stress, sadness, anxiety, or change? Do you need support and have a hard time asking for help? As men (of all ages), we often isolate, hide our emotions, disappear into gaming, work, social media, substances, have destructive relationships, and often while putting others before ourselves. Holding in these stresses and trying to "fix it" alone can weigh on your mind, and it can come out in ways that make your life difficult and unenjoyable. I can provide a space where we focus on you, and we ask where are things challenging for you, and how can things be better?

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.
What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.
How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.
What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
