I like to think of the journey to healing as a path back to one’s self. It’s incredibly easy to lose bits and pieces of ourselves when trying to recalibrate after traumatic experiences, reacquainting yourself from Covid isolation, or just trying to function every day waking up to the current state of the world. Perhaps you’ve pushed your emotional needs aside in this process, or you just haven’t had the time, desire, understanding of what those needs are. In therapy I’d like to offer a safe space to truly slow down. A space to make for yourself where you can allow yourself to be seen and heard even if just for an hour a week.

Every single person has seasons of struggle, phases of life where changes and stressors become too challenging to handle alone. Whether deep unresolved pain is coming to the surface once again and interfering with your day to day, or perhaps it’s a fight just to get through each day, regardless of where you are at in your own story, I believe we all need support and a little extra help to get through from time to time. I would be honored to walk with you through whatever you might be facing in the present moment.

I am an WA and ID licensed therapist and here to help. Often, because of trauma and stress, we might consciously or unconsciously disown parts of ourselves. We might grow to view certain coping skills or patterns as “bad” when ultimately, they most likely served an important purpose in our lives. I aim to help my clients explore themselves, part by part, with gentle curiosity. Through using a variety of experiential approaches, we will work together to heal these pieces, allowing us to become more integrated, free, and whole. Every individual is the expert of their own life and is wise, intuitive, and has the capacity to heal.

My main task as a therapist is to ensure that clients have the space to feel safe, secure, and heard.

Let's talk about the F-word....Feelings. I am passionate about emotions. All of us are full of them. The emotions we carry with us as individuals, as well as, what we bring into relationships can be powerful and challenging. I also understand that each of us carries with us an emotional heritage that is unique and has served as a means to support, protect, and empower each of us.

I work with those who struggle with anger. Often times the anger is brought on by unmet expectations and merely a symptom of deeper issues under the surface. It's my job to metaphorically stand in a place you can not see, and point you in the right direction as to the cause of what is contributing to the anger. By doing so, you can receive insight that will enrich your life and change it for the better.

If you are here that means you are probably seeking support for something in your life that feels difficult, overwhelming, confusing, or painful. My work is to offer you a safe, kind, and accepting space for you to further explore what is happening for you. Together we will be curious about your unique life experience, the impact of that experience, the struggles and conflicts you may be facing, and what you need in order to thrive. I believe therapy is the process of uncovering who you were meant to be before the world told you who you should be and wounded you with its expectations and cruelty.

As a naturopathic doctor, I offer a holistic approach to mental health. I work with patients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, difficulty with concentration and poor memory. Often these symptoms are hand in hand with gastrointestinal issues, headaches, irregular or painful menses, infertility and other hormonal imbalances. By treating the whole person I can get to the root cause of the symptoms, looking at genetic, dietary/lifestyle, and other factors that might be contributing. I do not offer mental health counseling, however I work closely with several therapists to offer collaborative care.

Seeking therapy can feel scary, but I believe it is a courageous and empowering step. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy and that therapy can be a means for personal growth. I have a family systems approach to my counseling, that is, I see how our upbringing shaped and molded us into who we are today. I believe that some of the difficulties we have with others is rooted in the learned relationships we have with our family members.

Reaching out for help is one of the most vulnerable and difficult things we do in life. You may want to learn more about your patterns, your identity, or your relationships. You may feel stuck, confused, alone, overwhelmed, or totally lost. You may be struggling at work, home, or school. Finding a safe place to land and unpack whatever is getting in your way is so important, and all of us need (and deserve) help along the way.

I work well with individuals who find themselves struggling with various issues and are in need of a safe place to talk about them. Perhaps the idea of change or addressing things scares you or you're not sure where to begin or what you're looking for. I am happy to hold space for you and go on that journey with you. I believe that you are the expert of yourself and while I may have education and experience, at the end of the day you're the expert of you and I'm there to help support and guide anyway I can.

I work with folks experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and dual diagnoses. Mental illness can be an alienating experience, despite how common it is. I hope to help clients work on improving their mood, anxiety levels, and wellbeing through a variety of modalities, collaborating to find what works best for them. My client's goals can be as diverse as wanting to increase or decrease a specific behavior, manage symptoms of an ongoing mental illness, or have a professional they can process their current feelings with in a productive manner.

Cigna and Evernorth Therapists
Cigna and its healthcare division Evernorth provide behavioral health coverage though managed care plans and Medicare Advantage plans. Outside the U.S., Cigna provides insurance through Cigna Global Health Benefits.

Cigna and Evernorth HMO plans only cover services from in-network providers and require a referral from your primary care physician. EPO plans also utilize in-network providers but generally do not require a PCP referral. PPO plans offer the most flexibility and a larger network of providers, and may include some out of network benefits.

Occasionally Cigna or Evernorth Therapists in Seattle will only accept a limited number of in-network insurance patients in their practice, so it's important to check if your plan is accepted when you book a consultation.

Based in Connecticut, Cigna insures 180 million people in more than 30 countries around the world. Cigna rebraded its health services division as Evernorth in September 2021.

Here’s a link to more information on how insurance works to cover behavioral health benefits.
